Docs holiday stories are legendary. I think we should all chip in and send him on another one and I'll go along to capture the antics strictly on a professional level. You know, for all your benefits
Good AFTERNOON Matt and co from a dull Bardsey where is the sun today! My take on Byram will be a Sunderland player next season sold for £6mI think that is good business hence pur interest in the lad from Chesterfield Todays conference no idea could be about Bamba or some sponsership
Afternoon Marcos, I'll be sure to check it out... Cellino will not be anywhere near the presser today.
I'm like Conde' nasty mate I can give you travelogues to make your hair curl and be glad to get home for a rest. Tales about drunken directors in a lap dancing bar spending a bomb on the company credit card, including champers. He sobered up when he got the bill on the way and shat himself, so had to ring his bank and say he had lost his card, and he got away with it and lived to fight another day. same guy in Vegas bought a hooker off the strip and got his camera stolen whilst in the shower. he wanted to hire Magnum PI to find her, but she kept texting him photos off his camera and blackmailed him into buying it back, fooking idiot. I may have to write a book, and funnily enough Chesh worked for me but doesn't know it he may have wondered about me though over the years
Afternoon Mike, you're a bit later today pal The presser is a commercial deal, so either ground, shirt or sponsorship. Perhaps all 3. Byram, not sure on his this...
Question - is it really that important that Cellino buys the ground? Lots of talk about changing peoples opinion of him if he does but... His Company leases the ground and pays rent, if he buys it, the asset belongs to his Company and they no longer pay rent. It is not like it suddenly belongs to the club (and by that I mean the heart of the club i.e. the fans not the business). So, he / his Company saves on rent but there is no guarantee that he will plough it into the team, he can simply increase his Dividends if he chooses or am I wrong?
El, my other absolute favourite thing to do in Tenerife is Jet Skiing off the most North Westerly point of the Island (can't remember the name of the place). Fairly pricey rather than horribly expensive but, if you get the chance, highly recommend it - had a fab time. On the other hand, if you are a golf fan, really don't bother they nail your balls to the floor on price - save it for when you get home!
Marcus here's the thing: bates owns the ground with one of his mates and they rent it out to us for over £2m per season. If Cellino buys the ground we are rent free saving us £2m per year and alongside that the company has an asset on the books so the value of the company rockets. Already Cellino is now holding a business valued at more than twice what he paid for it, so sensible. One of the things that stopped him was GFH still owning 25% of the business, and he quite rightly said to them that they should stump up some of the money as they would see the value of their shares rise significantly when the ground gets bought back. GHF have been doing some restructuring last week so may have something to do with todays presser
Hi Doc, I get that and understand. I was really just interested in the separation between what is Cellino's as opposed to what is the clubs if you see what I mean?? If we had a Chairman like Steve Gibson for example who you know would do something positive with the extra cash-flow and asset value I would be doing hoops. It just all feels the same with us whether Bates, GHF or Cellino owns the asset doesn't over excite me because it always seems it is about them getting rich or richer in the cases of Bates and Cellino.
