Odsal when Tinpot played there after the fire at VP..... There was a small accident with a chip van which when a rotund leeds lad leant against it fell over and started a small conflagration.
Morning Marcos, I reckon he's sold his stake to his own holding company (which he owns) Hi Elland - is that confirmed? Not arguing because I honestly don't know but he also said "with a clear harm to my own interests" which (not for the first time) isn't exactly true if he has sold to himself at a loss / gain He also came back with an "Agreement" with GFH at about the same time - all a bit weird! I am actually a Cellino fan because I believe he cares (mind you the benchmark for the last 20 years isn't exactly high) and am pleased that we still appear to be making some inroads on the player front. 3 or 4 top quality signings in the summer and we could go really close next near but, as ever with Leeds - uncertainty is in the air
Sounds like the time a couple of bald gentlemen tried to open the window going to Elland Road and it fell out.
Don't really see how that's an excuse, he just stated an evidently pertinent fact. If it were an excuse, surely he would've blamed Cellino for not signing more players, or the Football League for the fixture list, or Morison for not scoring? All he said was that it looked a jaded performance and the run took its toll on the players. He can hardly come out and say 'I should've dropped -insert name here-' to the press, can he? The player's confidence would be shot. If you're expecting a manager to be transparent with the press, you're following the wrong sport. Look at Mourinho for Christ's sake! Redfearn should have rotated if he felt the players were really tired, but to be honest, if he did change the formation to accommodate Sloth or played Adryan out wide, he would've been slaughtered if we lost. "Why did he change the formation? Why are we playing the diamond again? Why did he play Adryan out wide when he's a playmaker?" Etc. If he dropped players and we lost, people would've asked why he changed a winning team. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. I can understand why he wanted to keep things the same, because we've been on a decent run, but clearly he should've changed things around and freshened it up. I do sympathise with him to an extent though, this squad - even if you consider it better in terms of technical ability - is woefully unbalanced. Yes, Doukara, Montenegro and Adryan may be able to play wide, but it doesn't answer the question of why no natural wingers were signed in the first place. We lost Byram and suddenly we have zero width. And Byram didn't even start the season as a winger! From the little I've seen of him, Adryan must play centrally. If he plays wide he won't get involved and he'll lose interest. Centrally is where he can cause damage. I'm not a fan of playing strikers out wide either, it rarely works. Montenegro, from what I gather, can actually play wide, so should probably be given a go, but clearly Redfearn doesn't consider him ready. He may be wrong, but as a man who knows football better than we do, and sees him every day in training, I think it's fair to say his opinion is worth more than ours. He made a mistake last night - show me a manager who doesn't make mistakes and I'll show you God.
Brighton have played the same amount of games, why weren't they "jaded" they're professional athletes fo'fuxake ****ing excuses from Redfearn in my opinion
Haven't listened to his full interview, but on the BBC it says: Leeds United manager Neil Redfearn: "We started well and nullified Brighton quite a lot. But as the game wore on Brighton were the better side, created chances, and deserved the three points. "We were nothing like we can be, we looked a little jaded and as though we had played to the max in the last few games. We made bad decisions in possession, didn't press Brighton enough, and didn't break with menace." He mentions tiredness as a contributing factor, but he acknowledges Brighton were better, and that we made poor decisions, didn't press and didn't counter effectively. We looked lethargic yesterday. Is that Redfearn's fault for not rotating? Quite possibly, but as you said - they're professional athletes. They should be capable of playing three games in a week at a high intensity. Don't really see how it's an excuse, he's just said we looked jaded. What do you want him to say? All the players were dire? The players will really appreciate that, I'm sure. It was a poor performance, we probably needed freshening up, and Redfearn does need to shoulder some of the blame for that, but what are you expecting him to come out and say? I'm sure he will have had words with the players in the dressing room regarding their performances, and, as fans, we really don't need to know what's been said behind doors.
Morning all, I said Cellino would find another excuse not to buy the ground back, I guess we won't be getting that £20m cash injection either and I am guessing we can kiss goodbye to most the loan players signing contracts when the loan expires, not that we see too much of them.
I want him to hold his hands up and accept some of the blame instead of making excuses up He's not up to the job in my opinion, a better coach would get more from these players, oh, and a better coach would play a striker who can actually score goals
Afternoon Kiwi, I think we probably missed Bellusci and Byram. We have somthing like 15 midfielders. FFS, give Cook a rest for a few weeks. Anyone know why Leedsunited.com is down?
Managers never take the blame. It's always the players' fault, the referee's fault, lack of luck, Jupiter's alignment with Neptune, whatever. If you're expecting a manager to come out and say everything's his fault, you'll be waiting for an eternity. How many times did Fergie take the blame? It's always somebody else's fault: first rule of being a manager, it seems. To be honest, I don't really want Redfearn long term; a better manager probably would achieve more, but the reasons some people are giving for not liking him are flimsy at best. I won't go into Morison; I think the subject has been done to death, but I'll just say this: there's a reason why players like Emile Heskey have had such successful careers despite a paucity of goals.
Afternoon LL, it does seem that Moro, although not scoring has been one of the better players, puts in one hell of a shift, and some brilliant link up play. Saying that, we do need a goal scorer
Afternon ristac, I really hope you're wrong about the ground, and the cash injections, though all the loan players might as well leave now tbh
Afternoon One Leeds, can't help but think how many additional points would we have picked up if we had Ross.
Afternoon all, Finally fixed my t'interweb problem,so back on. Jst saw on the beeb,Rusell Crowe tweeting about buying Leeds!!!! I don't do twitter,so can't follow up story, bizarre to say the least.
Evening Este Crowe is a Leeds United and Leeds Rhinos fan, he was over here to watch his side South Sidney Rabbitohs thrash St Helens 39-0 , he mentioned Leeds United in a tv interview after the Boro game
