Milanic's departure was announced by Leeds on Saturday, yet he claims his contract is still ongoing and insists he will not terminate the deal. "My contract was not terminated, I'm on paid leave," he told RTV Slovenija. "During this time I must be ready all the time to once again take over the team, if requested by the owner. "My contract continues to run and I'm on vacation. I signed for two years and I will not terminate my contract."

Although in Italy, it happens because managers can't work for more than one Italian club in the same season. Bucks, like Eire said, it was on another thread and it was blown out of all proportion by some of my fellow 606ers who took offence(which has been sorted) because they thought I was playing a republican song. Anyway It wasn't and in fact it was a protestant song called the sash and I was proving a point to Eire that a well known republican band had actually sang that on their album. I just wanted to show how stupid both sides are, but like I say it was seen as me being provocative and supporting the IRA, which if anyone knows me is totally wrong. As for the music thread(which was set up by Elland for a bit of fun) it's harmless and keeps the other threads from being cluttered up by music videos..
I was going to ask if we knew how much compensation Darko would be due, but if he is being kept on then that's costing us a fair whack. Maybe him and Hunt can get together and laugh at how much they are earning for doing absolutely nothing
Milanic bought himself out of his last contract. The fact that effectively he is suspended on full pay, and has publically said waiting to come back, means he will simply not just walk away
Morning shaks. Glad to report glasgow has changed beyond recognition and for the better. Chatted to a few old guys like myself there and they're thrilled with how things have mellowed
That's if there's a premier for a hem to come back to. Looks fooked to me. Doubt if there was 25k in Celtic park yesterday. Mind you, the weather was foul
Morning Elland, morning all. Sorry to say, but given Cellino's record and such an abject display 2nd half, I have to say I saw the sacking coming. That said, I did hope he'd have a couple more games to try and turn things around. Hope Redders accepts the job. We really do need some stability now.
Just when we thought it could not get worse. Leeds boss set for two years of gardening leave please log in to view this image Darko Milanic may have left Leeds after just 32 days in charge but says he will be paid by the Championship club through to 2016 and as such is available to the club should they want him back. The Slovenian became trigger-happy owner Massimo Cellino's latest victim an hour after Saturday's 2-1 home defeat to Wolves - his sixth game in charge and sixth without a win. Leeds are now to replace the 46-year-old with Neil Redfearn, the perennial caretaker who accrued 10 points from 12 in the gap between Milanic and David Hockaday. Redfearn watched the Wolves game with Cellino and is set to finalise a contract with the Italian early this week, while Milanic will begin to contemplate rebuilding a career that only five weeks ago was being spent with Austrian side Sturm Graz - a club where he is adored after a successful spell as a player. He says he can do so knowing Leeds are still paying him, though, and was quoted as telling Radio Slovenia: "I still have a contract on paid leave. "During this time, I must be ready to take over the team if requested by the owner." That technically opens the door for a return to Elland Road before the expiry of his contract in two years' time - something not unheard of in Italy, where Cellino spent 22 years with Cagliari, going through 36 coaches in the process.
Haha. This is another crazy(/normal) day in the life of the Leeds fans. You just cant this up. Surely Cellino will just terminate his contract as he's clearly not wanted as head coach. But I still think that the Cellinos (after hearing from Edoardo) still rate him as a coach and if they aren't prepared to terminate his contract, why don't they just bring him back as Redfearn's number two or, failing that, just a defensive coach? Whilst we haven't really had a chance to properly assess his abilities, I think most of us can see his affect hasnt been all bad and that perhaps he has indeed sured us up as a unit so maybe bringing him back as support wouldn't be the worst shout in the world? Redfearn would still be free to unleash our attacking side, whilst having Darko consulting.
Shows how much I know Shaks. Can't see the connection between, "the sash" & the IRA. Thought they were at opposite ends of the Irish political spectrum.
I don't know if he's past his sell by date, but George Graham IMO was a great defensive coach, I wouldn't want him as a manager again because his style of football was boring, but he did make it hard for the opposition to score.
There is no connection Boggers, that's why it was strange to see the track on a Wolfe Tones album and I was just proving to Eire that it was on that said LP. I wasn't trying to start any ****, it was only between me and Eire. Anyway it's all been sorted out.
