hmmmm ... just heard that a good result on Saturday and Redders gets the job!!! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Probably to be expected. Cellino obviously admires his work or he'd have been sent packing weeks ago in the cull. So if he wins Saturday, that'd be back to back wins and assuming he wants the job its reasonable it'd be offered to him. I too, would be worried about someone new having to take over the academy but maybe Redders could continue to oversee it given he wouldn't have any of the normal managerial work to do
Still not convinced by the squad and I can definitely understand why we're one of the favourites for relegation: 12/13 foreigners coming into the squad from a variety of different leagues won't gel immediately, and Cellino's policy of signing a new player every time we lose is not a viable recruitment strategy. It does look like we've potentially signed some decent players (Sloth, Bellusci, Sharp), but I don't think the squad is balanced and I don't think we've addressed some of the key areas we're lacking in. I'm hoping that if a proper coach comes in, we'll be fine, but I really wouldn't be surprised if we struggled all season.
As much as I want Steve Clarke as our next permanent coach I wouldn't be surprised if Redfearn is given the role. It's the cheapest option and that's what I think Cellino wants. The only thing I can't understand is why he invests all this money into the squad and the club but takes weeks to decide who our new coach will be?
I agree with you, Kiwi. We've recruited lots of youth, pace & hunger. We seem to have overlooked leadership & aggression though, and for me these attributes are probably more important than youth, pace & hunger. I want to know who's going to put in the crunching, game-turning tackles on a freezing Tuesday night. I want to know who's going to drive the team to victory when we go 2-0 down (which we will!). We need people to scare the shiite out our own players as well as the opposition, and I just can't see it.
Trouble you've got is even if you sign this enforcer, it will be hard for him to motivate a set of players that speak different languages - so what you need is a midfield general fluent in Italian, English, Brazilian, Danish, French, Swiss, Gurani, Slovenian and Jamaican - should be easy enough!!
Sky sports are saying that greedy white powder snorting scouser, R.Fowler is interested in becoming coach, hasn't he got enough money out of the club already.
on Fowler, why is he a greedy so and so? All the players from the Ridsdale era were put into a difficult situation ... Ridsdale struck emergency deals with whoever was willing to listen ... Citeh at the time weren't flush with money, so Ridsdale gave them Fowler and Mills for fcuk all as long as Citeh paid half their wages ... this slinging mud at players who would probably have won the title for Leeds is not on, had Ridsdale not been such a fcuk up Fowler would probably have gone on to score a ton of goals for us Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
He didn't need the money, he was raking it in from his properties and it was another reason why this club nearly went under. He could have scored loads of goals but we'll never know that. I don't like Fowler anyway, if it was a younger player who was starting in the game I'd be more sympathetic and IMO yes my opinion, he was another money grabbing ****.
I wouldn't single out Robbie Fowler Shaks, if he was offered silly money to sign for Leeds he's not going to turn round and say it's too much money it might send you under, so I'm not signing. Anyway the majority of players are greedy. You only have to look at that twat Joe Hart and his pathetic dandruff commercials. He must be on at least £100k a week as it is. Just how much money do these greedy bastards need?
I don't blame him for taking the mad money offered by Ridsdale, but it was the fact that he signed for Man city and the club had to pay part of his wages that does my nut in, he wasn't the only player whose wages we subsidised I know that, but I singled fowler out only because he has thrown his name into the ring for the coaches job. He'd also been sidelined for most of his second season and he picked up his sizable wages for doing nothing.
If we need to go for an old player,it should be someone who loves the club not money. The Chief is 1 of the few who spring to mind but never Fowler.
