Fantastic news Why was he in the away stand with Leeds fans and being pictured with them on Saturday then? http://www.not606.com/showthread.ph...h-Day-Thread?p=6872994&viewfull=1#post6872994 http://www.not606.com/showthread.ph...h-Day-Thread?p=6873554&viewfull=1#post6873554
I guess the argument is we have a wage structure for new players, it's been good enough for our other signings but not for agard. So presumably he's asking for more than the others. I guess if we were paying a sizeable fee for him and goal scorers are normally top of any wage structure, he'd expect to be at the top end of it... But his agent would appear to have high expectations.
Why waste time discussing the whys and why nots of a player who wouldn't agree to our wage structure. Let him **** off, there are thousand s of capable footballers out there. Lest move on. No club signs every target
Really gutted we arent getting Agard (although who knows what will happen!). He would have probably given us more width and probably the final piece to once again be the best scoring team in the division. But alas, money is too important and who'd want the riches of the Prem anyway! FFS! We still need a Defensive Mid as Austin, Murphy, Tonge dont fill me with confidence and poor old Cooper, Bellusci, Pearce will be tearing their hair out with the extra shift they will be putting in over the next few months!
I agree but what pains me is that I think we've been fortunate to be at the head of the queue for this one. He will end up going to one of our rivals now, he'll then probably end up getting a hat-trick at ER!
If he thinks he's worth more than Sharpe, Smith, or Ajose, then phark 'im. He's done nothing yet & we most certainly are moving in the right direction
True, I think we've let one slip here. Heard today that four clubs were watching him closely. I know Leeds, Bristol City and Wolves were three, don't know the fourth. Thing is with all this stuff today it may well have alerted other clubs to his availability. No going back to this one in two weeks time Mr Cellino !
Not you as well Boggers ! How do you know he wanted more than them ? He wanted more than we offerred certainly and chanced his arm. One saving grace, it again shows Cellino won't be messed with. Bloody hell the bloke's a stuborn one, are we sure he hasn't got any Yorkshire blood in him ?
Being a Leeds forum though I find it useful discussing Leeds players. Ones who dont want to or won't play for us are of no interest. With any wage structure there are players a club won't be able to afford and that applies right up to the top of the pl. As nobody knows what the lad was offered or was looking for, its pointless pointing fingers thats all Im saying
Yeah cos prospective signings always do that sort of thing. He was playing billy big balls. i can see MC being impressed by that (NOT)!
So you have never joined in a discussion when rumours start in regards to potential targets? Totally agree, I just asked if there were figures published when fingers started pointing I don't believe for one minute that he asked for the same amount as Sharp and the others, he obviously wanted more than Cellino was willing to give.
You said why do people bite the bait from Mighty... The truth is the Internet and the papers are full of Nile ranger being given a chance at Leeds, of Cellino flying in to have talks with him and come on mate, you are more intelligent than that to believe he would have sat in the away end if there was no interest at the time from us. Away tickets are for members and ticket holders only, who got him his ticket? We WERE interested in signing him I have no doubt, hopefully it was Cellino keeping him hanging on in case we failed with Sharp.
Its a guess Wicks. I'm asuming that there is a structure that would be the same for all new players unless they are a signficant step above what we already have. So whilst Smith maybe on a bit more as he was here last season and his contract was probably negotiated by Mr Harvey, I would imagine that he was probably offerred the same as what Ajose and Sharpe have already accepted. You're right about one thing though, Cellino isn't to be messed around. Are we sure given his financial dealings and his carefulness with money that there isn't a Yorkshire gene in him somewhere?
I totally agree we have a wage structure he was more interested in money than playing for us let him go somewhere else for me
