Leeds' former assistant manager Nigel Gibbs is taking legal advice after quitting the club's coaching staff. Gibbs, 48, assistant to former manager Brian McDermott who left Elland Road at the end of May, is considering legal action for breach of contract and constructive dismissal. He had failed to reach an agreement with club owner Massimo Cellino over the severing of his contract. Gibbs said in a statement released to the Yorkshire Evening Post: "I have terminated my employment with Leeds United in response to the way I have been treated by the club, which amounts to a breach of contract. "I have put the matter in the hands of my legal advisors and in those circumstances it is inappropriate for me to make any further comment." Cellino wanted Gibbs to work alongside first-team coach David Hockaday and his assistant Junior Lewis. Gibbs worked with Hockaday under former Watford boss Aidy Boothroyd before departing Vicarage Road in 2005. Sky Sports
I read that Ristac, thought he had already left . Another court case looming...are you Bates in disguise...
Cellino won't lose this one, he offered to pay the contract up in full. Gibbs turned it down, if it goes to court the most Gibbs can win is the value of his contract but he will now have to pay costs of bringing the case for both sides. If Gibbs loses he also obviously has to pay costs. He is now trying to get Cellino to settle out of court but Cellino has told him to feck off so whatever happens Gibbs is losing cash. It cost Gibbs £1200 in fees to even have the case heard by a tribunal. As good with legals as he was with players. Greedy Cnut no matter how he was treated.
