Cant argue with anything you say there LeedsRevolution. The obvious question tho is what is a "Marquee Signing" Leeds60 (sorry I seem to be picking up on your comments today, honest its not intentional ), whilst I have no reason to doubt what you say about John Guidetti, being a rising star that we should sign, I would doubt if many Leeds fans, other than those that read this forum, have even heard of Guidetti, thus if the headline came up "leeds pay £1.5m for Guidetti", I'd be thinking who ????? , more than "wow I must rush and buy my season ticket"
Morning all. When's the next friendly? Still waiting for my membership card for this season. Bit concerned that we're getting in a lot of changes. Hope our home grown players don't get too cheesed off. Also hope that they gel together quickly.
Beckford - 54 goals for Wealdstone in 82 games, signed for us and then was loaned out for two seasons, didn't break into the team until his third season. Gradel was not unkown, he had been playing league football for three seasons before we signed him, we had him on loan and knew what he could do? Ross - Again he had been playing league football for several seasons before we signed him, his first two seasons were hardly spectacular. Snodgrass - started his career at Livingston, where he scored 15 goals in 79 games. Snodgrass caught attention by turning down a trial with Spanish giants FC Barcelona. Before he turned professional, he was offered a move to Blackburn Rovers, though he chose to stay with Livingston. Most were signed when we were in League one A bit different attracting quality players in League 1
If MC buys back ER will people start to be more positive about things? That alone will double the value of the club and if he's spending £1.5m on one player you have to think that that same player if English would be double, treble that amount ..... so if he does all this I'm for giving him a chance. Thats not to say that it could still all blow up in our faces again, but at least, for now we should maybe try and smile a bit
I'll be honest, I know you've been banging on about Guedetti for a while but I really wouldn't be that excited if he signed. He has been injured for a long time and not played that much football in a while, once upon a time was a good prospect but seems like his career is gonna end before it even started. I remember seeing him for stoke last season as well and he looked well off the pace.

LOL. must admit it does look like that. It was aimed more at people, I cant remember who, last season who were buying away match tickets in the home end when there were Leeds tickets still on sale, and even 1 match on sale on the gate to members, but some on here still saying they were buying in the home end. Perhaps just me, but it doesnt make sense. Its more than watching a match, its supporting Leeds, and you cant do that in the home end. MOT
I disagree, for the reasons quoted in my previous post, they were not unknown players or unknown quality. Those signed whilst we were in Division one were pretty decent signings, a marque signing has to be relevant to the division you are playing in Ross and Beckford - It took three seasons for them to turn out to be decent, if it takes the current signings three seasons then we have not improved the squad, it is considerably weaker without Ross - Just my opinion though...
Burnley are reported to have taken American winger Gboly Ariyibi on trial after his contract with Leeds United expired. The 19-year-old only moved to Elland Road in December but was released at the end of last season having failed to suffiecintly impress, making just a handful of Championship appearances. The former Southampton youngster ended the campaign on loan at Tranmere in League One before moving on from Leeds.
This transfer window's a bit different though, not only have we not heard of the new signings, we have to look up on wiki the teams they've played for Catania? Latina? Juve Stabia? Maidenhead?
Not a fan of Guinness, but I do like Marmite. At least when you turn up for work honking of ale you can say it was my toast I suppose!
