What a ridiculous (not to mention contradictory) comment ! You intimate that it almost worked because the players they bought "were already a group", yet they mixed well with Watford's existing players.
absolutely right it was the best of Watfords squad mixed with Italian players from Seria A udinese who were already a unit and already used to playing with each other. and it almost worked
It was reserves from serie a. Well be mixing quality Italians with the best of our squad from last season. Looks like you were wrong again mighty, Cellino doin it the right way
I think at 1 point Watford played with 9 loan players in one game were they Watford or were they Udinese ?
Ok, so you're saying that it didn't work at Watford. Yet what Cellino is doing is "laughable", because he's doing the opposite of what Watford did by bringing in players from different clubs ? Yeah, that makes sense, thanks Mighty......
Name these quality Italians Eire.... Oh no wait a minute you aint even got 1 Whos the best of your squad from last season ? Paddy Kenny ? Warnock ? McCormack ? Peltier ? Diouf ?
If you're following the story, we can't sign anyone until embargo is lifted. This week will likely be the start of the influx. Ill keep you posted mighty, dont worry
Why is that contradictory? Watford foreign legion were all from the same network - they were also top tier players - your targets are 2nd/3rd tier strangers!
Not forgetting, the Watford players had a very experienced and respected "Italian" coach in Zola - your lot will have Hockawally
The way I saw it Mighty was stating that what Cellino is doing (signing lots of players, from different clubs) is laughable, citing Watford as an example of how to do it, because the players they brought in already knew each other, yet they immediately gelled with players at Watford (who they didn't know). Apart from the fact that 99.9% of clubs worldwide don't simply buy all their players from one club (Norwich being a notable exception), he then admitted soon after that the Watford "experiment" didn't work anyway. Not quite sure what he's going on about to be honest.
Hate to say it, but i couldn't agree more. At this point in time i wish i was on your side of the fence, able to take the p*ss. The list is full of players we have absolutely no chance whatsoever of signing with a few donkeys added for good measure. Who actually sits down and spends the time to make this sh*t up? We're a championship side, a championship side who as it stands, has more chance of being relegated than promoted. Add to that we've got a failed non-league "coach" and a failed "non-league" traillist on board, i can just see why the likes of Gamberini and Pavoletti would want to jump onboard this train I hope i'm wrong, very very wrong.
You are wrong, very very wrong. You and your buddy TC know nothing about the players we are rumoured to be after and know sweet fa about Hockaday. You pick up on the time he had at Forest Green to call him a failure but do not mention he was coaching the Watford team that screwed us in the play offs.
According to Sky, MacCormack has now handed in a transfer request. Let's hope it finally gets sorted as soon as possible and for as much money as we can get and start rebuilding. Thanks Ross and goodbye.
My buddy TC I'll tell you what i do know kid, the little spotty oik who created that list knows about as much as the rest of us, sweet F A as you would say. Hockaday was at Forest Green Rovers for 4 years and has been out of work for 8 months for a reason. Why hasn't anyone else offered him a job in league one or two, or even non-league? If he'd been brought in as a back-room or youth coach i would have no problem whatsoever, but he hasn't has he?
Of course he will - he's been sacked at his last 4 jobs - Watford, Southampton, Cheltenham and Forest Green. Obviously working his way down the football pyramid
I say give the lad a chance we are all too quick to critise MC is nobodies fool so lets judge at Christmas
Well said Thanks and goodbye. Good its done in first week of transfer window and plenty of time to line up new faces. Looking forward to next few weeks and positive developments for once
