I had this argument with my mates in McDonald's before boarding our coach We bring in three loan signings from premiership clubs & they are not better than the players we already have in our squad. What's the point in bringing in fillers who are gonna sit on the bench most games Unconvinced with Blackman Clarke looks a better prospect than Harrison Unimpressed with Baker, certainly doesn't look like he could dislodge our current midfield unless we get a glut of injuries/suspensions. As for spitter I despair ! If they are good enough & with other players with championship experience we shouldn't be getting hammered by Crewe U23's
This is a great question. Bielsa knew what he was getting with the players he retained and he knew the players he was bringing in on loan were good replacements for the retained players. Yet as 64 says none have pulled up trees yet. Baker started well but died away and not since. Harrison looked the dogs but then died away, Blackman has been overlooked. Im hopingthey all come good and prove the trust Bielsa has in them. Harrison looked good yesterday but he was playing Crewe U23s. Brown should be like a new signing of some quality and the same with Bamford, but if Bamford proves to be long term we need a new top striker
Some have had more chances than others... Baker is behind some good players, did ok when he came on. Harrison has been hit and miss. Blackman hasn’t had a chance to be fair to him. You could say they are behind others but they’re behind a winning team. Brown we know has quality, but will he be the same after a year out? Impossible to say.
Big question that and a big worry is Bamford because we all know what Alan Smith was like as a player and what he was like after he came back from that bad knee injury.fir me Bamford is better than Roofe but Roofe took his chance so Bamford kept out, even though he scored on his debut for us in a cup game.
The players we brought in are better than the last season players,we already had,it's just that last seasons players are playing much better than last season. If I had told myself I think Klich is a good player, and I've mentioned Philips and England together last season,I would have booked myself in an asylum.
There's still time and places available..... Hey - looking good for you guys at the moment. Nice to be able to post on a forum when you're top of a division rather than at the bottom like us.
I’d have BPF over Blackman myself as they’re pretty much on par. We were mad signing someone like Blackman on loan, it’s a shame we couldn’t have got a stand out keeper even if on a short 2 year contract or loan so BPF knew he was the future. I agree though, drop him for Blackman and it would shatter his confidence.
Just shows what “possible” talent is wasted in the reserves of the top PL clubs, sign 10 and hope one becomes good when the truth is most will probably end up loaned out for 3-4 seasons before ending up in league one or lower
I thought BPF wasn't going to sign a new contract extension at one stage. I'm sure there were supporters moaning about the fact we might lose him, I could be wrong though. Cooper was to blame for giving them the opportunity to score in the first place.
Actually first time that has been brought up and correct. The chance came from a combination of poor refereeing and Coopers petulance (which is not good in a captain). Just before the his foul for the free kick, that **** Garner jumped into him smashing his arm into his face. Cooper took the opportunity to 'leave one on him' at the next tackle out of frustration but right in the middle right in front of the penalty area. Ridiculous decision, think back to the days when Billy or Giles would have bided their time and taken revenge in a neutral area of the pitch. As for BPF, I'm guessing that if Blackman was better he would be playing by now.
And playing better is what happens if you have a proper player waiting to take your place, forces you to keep your standards high
