There was a big gap, and then there wasn't. Albon clearly didn't expect Hamilton to send one up the inside.

Penalty is maybe a bit harsh but the way they've been handed out for various things this year it's hard to not argue against it either.

A shame for Albon as he has deserved a podium this year and probably would have had a go at Gasly for 2nd. That could have been interesting!

The whole Ferrari debacle though.... That was another moment of "head up yer arse" from both the team and the drivers.

Yeah. Clumsy from Vettel on the face of it.

They were unlucky though. Didn't seem like much of a contact for two punctures and a broken suspension.

Actually though... Nah. Stuff McLaren. After what they did to Hinchcliffe, I couldn't give a toss about them. Sorry Carlos and Lando.

There was little to it, but it was so unnecessary. They've been a bit of a calamity this season.

I didn't know about Hinchcliffe, just had a look!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's a bit like Force India, signing 3 drivers a few years ago. Must be terrible for him having a contract to drive and all the publicity/sponsorship that goes with it for to be pulled from you without a real prospect of an alternative drive. As for McLaren paying him his salary!!! That is the least he deserves, what about compensating for loss of sponsorship income, lack of publicity, his lack of ability to improve etc........ I guess he doesn't want to be seen as the driver who sues a team. Pity and while McLaren have been ruthless previously kicking a contracted driver out isn't on.

Yeah... It was a situation that stinks since it left Hinch high and dry with not a lot of time to scramble of for another team to add an additional car for him. It's been some bad publicity for Macca.

I asked that a while back, his insight on this race would be useful.

What a complete disaster for Ferrari, my instinct is it was Vettel's fault, he looked worried when he got out of the car and I think he thought he was to blame. With Le Clerc 11 points behind Verstappen now, 4th would have given him 12 points. Thanks Vettel, you pushed your team mate over twice, once was enough and you messed up his championship standing. You are a case!.

On Lewis, he wanted to throw it about knowing it didn't matter, first bit of real fun he has had but Albon drove well and didn't deserve that outcome.

Insult to injury is being beaten to the podium by Gasly. Gotta be a bit of a crapper of a day for Albon.

Crazy race and just look at how awesome things are when we get unpredictability and drivers fighting for higher positions than their cars allow.

Albon was unlucky to have a collision but let’s not pretend he was anywhere near a podium drive prior to that- he was well beaten by Bottas, Vettel Hamilton and Verstappen until Bottas engine gave up. He raced well in the safety car period until the collision but he left the door wide open for Lewis on a corner he should never have had a sniff at.

Sainz drove the wheels off his McLaren today from the back of the grid and for me has really enhanced his reputation this season. Norris is a smashing young talent too and the fact that Sainz has made him look a little more average recently is a testament to Carlos. A very lucky podium but a phenomenal drive regardless.

McLaren have made positive strides this year and I hope they continue to bridge the gap to the front next season on the way to 2021- a big moment for James Key.

Well done to Toro Rosso this year with both drivers pouncing to grab podiums in the two crazy races of 2019.

Ferrari are just a mess. Binotto is an incredibly talented guy but doesn’t look a team leader whatsoever. Vettel and LeClerc just don’t seem to gel at the moment.

Imagine how different things would look had they put Brawn in charge after Todt. I think their recent history would have looked a lot different.

Great finale', but it was a bullshit SC made simpy for the show.
I blame Webber for Turkey, but that was Vettel's fault.
Grats to Alfa, Mclaren & Gasly.
Honda 1,2. how long ago was the last? Senna & Berger?
He lost 10-9 to Verstappen in their inter-team head-to-head the season they were team-mates, and Verstappen refused to give back a position so it should've been 10-9 Sainz.
