I thought that Townsend was ready for first team football with Tottenham Hotspur even before his loan to Queens Park Rangers.

His performances over the past few weeks have simply reinforced by belief in him.

Yeah I thought the same, though like you said, his performances have also reassured that.

he has natural creativity, something we are serverely lacking at the moment.
The loan was a bad choice. He should have been on the bench and/or rotating with bale/lennon this season.

I think it is good for the squad to have players like Carroll, Caulker, Livermore and Townsend around.

I'm sure they are on lower wages than buying in similar foreign players, they are English and it is good for the youth team to see that you can progress.

Most people would have expected them to make a bigger impact this year, but when you consider where we are in the league, that AVB has been learning about his whole squad and trying to utilise the experience he has as much as posible, it is clear in my mind that next year is when these four and Holtby will kick on.

I think with Galas gone + Lloris clear number one, the defense will be alot more settled with only 4cb's to rotate. We seem to be ok with the two kyles and bennie esp as Kaboul and Verts can play as fb's too.

I think the team does need a new winger though, on top of Andros, as well as a new striker and someone that can fill in for Moussa. If we had those three players I think we would really kick on. Our squad has been incredibly thin this year and it is no surprise that it is catching up with us.

    Next year my friends..... <laugh>

Please note, this is assuming we keep everyone we intend to and strengthen the areas we all know we need to and the club has consistantly failed to the past. Im an optimist.
