Very true . Sorry, I'm reading the posts in reverse order (see my edited post). I echo what others have said, plus...it's good to have some kind of a rivalry and there aren't many within the division we are in at the moment.
I am quite pleased to have this discussion. We will all have teams that for often quite irrational reasons we do not like. It might be because of an incident in a game, the comments by a manager about our team, or because of something that happened at a ground. If we consider how the PL has been split because of money into the haves and the have nots, is it not quite normal to want the lesser teams to give the 'big' ones a bloodied nose from time to time. Watching Bournemouth at home today against Spurs the gulf between the two sides was enormous, brought about for various reasons, but one was that Spurs can afford to buy players of a proven ability, whereas Bournemouth and similar teams have to hope that money they spend will from time to time turn up a gem. We can all remember the scorn that we heaped upon Holloway a couple of seasons ago for his stupidity, but from what I have seen recently he has been far more complementary about Watford than some of the other commentators. Do we hold his old remarks against him for ever, or do we enjoy the fact that an unbeliever has been converted?
Funny, my definition of Grumpy is those who continually moan about such BIG threats as the Mighty Bournemouth.Dont know whats with your 'Dont Bite' Bloother, cant take an alternative view ??
I i have respected most of your comments in the past . But there is good reason why Bournemouth won more penalty's than i think any other league club and a lot of fans complained about them . I was never happy to see one of our players dive. I like some other clubs and hate them up the road and wolves . Why should we be connected to other "small clubs " ? I dont care who goes down as long as its not us
I can take alternative views Nick, it's just that it's very one dimensional. The language you use suggest that you were simply looking for a reaction, hence 'don't bite'. You are entitled to your point of view and I don't agree with this one because of the way you have over simplified it (as other have pointed out). It's more than just a few dodgy decisions.
Sums up why this forum can be sterile .One person comes up with a 'ooo I dont like that Bournemouth',others jump 'on the bandwagon. If someone dares to question this(and doesnt get very conclusive answers -and resorting to comments about the B'Mouths managers facial appearance by an apparent Adonis are not clever),they're looking for a reaction ! Brian, your 'hate' is surely aimed at some ''fans'',not the clubs themselves
To be honest I couldn't care less about Bournemouth - it always seems a topsy turvy World where they are in the premiership and Portsmouth in the old 4th div. My wish list for relegation includes Newcastle (because they think we are dwarfs) and....Chelsky (the second club in Fulham) because of their fans who were, and still often are, NF thugs. Because they believe themselves to be a big club (but I can remember them playing in front of crowds of 10,000), and lastly because of the 'special one', not forgetting John Terry. In fact I wouldn't inflict them on nice clubs like Brentford and Fulham - better give them a league of their own with Luton. Unlike some others here I hope that Norwich survive.
Speaking personally, I wouldn't have a problem with Bournemouth aside from the media love in which, at the same time, more or less suggests we have no right to be in the Premier League. Irrational, childish and totally shallow? Yes mea culpa...
Bournemouth cheated and karma is a wonderful thing. Meanwhile, before the season started one of my bets went on Watford finishing highest of the promoted clubs, so far so good. I'm hoping Bournemouth and 2 other clubs go down though I don't care who as long as it isn't us. It'd be a giggle if it was Chelsea but they will turn their season round, long way to go and all that! I do hope and believe Sunderland will stay up and for Dave, Norwich! (As long as they finish below us )
I would also like to see Norwich stay up (as long as they finish below us). Hopefully 'big' clubs like Villa and Sunderland / Newcastle along with the darlings Muff. There does seem a lot of depression on your boards Dave!! Whatever happens to Norwich they are a likeable, sensibly run football club with no delusions, quite refreshing.
One person comes up with a pathetic troll attempt and ooo you're all so petty, seems that person might be senile too as reading things that aren't there and not seeing things that are... Sterile not...
Just one of the reasons I'm staying away from the Norwich board for a while, far too many pants wetters atm!
For me life's too short to waste time and energy 'hating' other clubs. Football's a game...other clubs, like ours, have good and bad fans...the PL in general embodies an ethos which I can find little enthusiasm for. I love WFC...but even we're not perfect!
... and I will prefer the clubs that buck the trend.... and that will be the smaller clubs... Wasn't so many years ago that we were the little heroes of the old first div... yes we got a lot of crit too for our playing style etc..... The trick is to convert that into staying power.... Looks to me like we have that at present... whereas Bournemouth are being sadly exposed.
