Yesterdays result for the Posh earned them promotion via the play offs. It also gave DF another chance to manage in the Championship just months after his departure from PNE.

Now I know that his hands were tied in the transfer market and it wasn't the easiest of situations for a manager to in, and with that I can sympathise with him a little, BUT, the players he had at his disposal were more than capable of at least mid table IMO.

He may well have learned from his mistakes at PNE, but looking at Posh scorelines of 3-2, 4-4, 5-3 and numerous 2-2 draws, then I think his defensive management still leaves a lot to be desired. Yes, his side can score goals, but it'll be a lot tighter in the Championship and if his team can't stop leaking goals in L1 then they are going to really struggle.

I rarely wish ill luck on people and I've certainly nothing against Peterborough but I do hope they struggle. It's an ironic twist of fate that sees DF swapping places with us in the divisions and it is indeed a very bitter pill for me this morning :mad:
 
Yes he has maclad, the lad is a class apart in that side and without him I think Posh would probably have been mid table at best. They are going to find him very hard to replace

Agree with everything you say Forever..exept for the last line...<ok>

I never wanted him at PNE and said so at the time. A man with very poor man management skills and little tactical nous. He was not up to the job he was asked to do. lacking experience in the championship and relying heavily on SAF his appointment was a disaster for PNE. He should have gone much sooner then I believe we would have stayed in the championship.
Personally I don't find it a bitter pill to swallow as his time at PNE is history now and we move on, as he has done. I expect Peterorough to struggle under DF in the championship much the same as they did last time and PNE did under his tenure.

I do agree it's time to look forward Plumbs, it was just a final twist in our season I think, and it's funny how football works.

Maclad posted on the Swans board that the last time PNE were relegated from the second tier, the Swans were promoted to the top one at Deepdale.

History does have a habit of repeating itself and fate has it's little quirks such as Posh going from where we came. I should have expected it really!! <doh>
 
We need to look forward.....I certainly do.......I was one of those who stuck by DF for too long, but I'm still pretty sure that with a very good defensive coach we may have remained in the championship.

Just think if we had beat Bunrnley when we were coasting 3-1 and scunnie when we were 2-1 we would still be there!

Just as a matter of interest, does nobody on here think Brown took too long to get his first win....was it 13 games?

I'm not convinced as yet by PB lets see how he does structuring a squad in the summer

Hi markos <ok>

I'm all for Brown atm. I think he came in at a bad time. The whole confidence of the club was rock bottom. Players injured, along with SAF and Pulis calling back loan players, we were left threadbare. It took a while for that first win but the signs were there that we were turning a corner a few games prior to that IMO.

The fitness levels seem to have improved (scoring more late goals than conceding) and very good displays against the likes of Swansea and QPR (both since promoted) and a fine draw at Forest tell me that he started getting better from the players than DF did.

The proof is in the pudding though, and if we can hit the ground running and be there or thereabouts by this time next year, then Brown will be everybodys Champion, if we aren't, then I'm sure he'll feel the wrath of the supporters, as others have.

But for the time being, I have faith :)
