From what my mates told me about the game in 2001, it's not the most welcoming city, set of fans or police force either. The guys I know that are going are all staying in Milan and just getting the train to Turin on the day of the game.
It speaks volumes about rangers/Sevco history in Europe when one of their finest bears Think they still use pre-decimal coins to travel to Europe . They are pathetic.
Got the form through for our tickets this week. £75 a ticket, and £100 for any guest tickets we order! eek! Still worth every penny, and had everyone and their granny asking me to try and get them one.
Great post rebel the wise. My curiosity got the better of me, you posting on a thread about someone getting his juventus ticket as you are a non attender . I should have Known you would be raving off topic as usual.
GIOVINCO seems to,be the play maker of Juve. A very skilful player. Incisive passes, BUT, he plays where big Vic plays and unless Vic does something silly and gets a red card, I think he can win this one. His physicality will be too much for the wee man, who tends to shirk a tackle. THey take a vicious corner from the left, very much a la Charlie Mulgrew, so we need to watch that. They also tend to play through the middle a lot, similar to Barca. If we play Issie he has to be disciplined as these guys exploit the break better than Barca, who were never used to having to break too much, but it is a big part of the Juve game. They seem to play 3 at the back. We can exploit that. Our biggest enemy will be them exaggerating fouls etc. Lennie must have the guys wised up to this. IMO the game will revolve around GIOVINCO and WANYAMA . My vote goes to big Vic, but he has to be carefuL. A war of words indicating that GIOVINCO may be prone to exaggerating diving etc may not go astray. Some pundits are tipping Juve for the whole tournament. Will we beat them? Maybe not Can we beat them? Most certainly. It would be great if Commons was on form, or better still Forrest was fully fit. Don't gamble on him. Sammy will be crucial also. Big Fraser on form could be a tie winner. Whatever I will be astonished if Juve win the tournament. We did well to avoid the big German clubs till maybe a one of game. Anything can happen then.
Midfield is defo where this tie wil be won - pirlo is the major threat, he really makes them tick. I think broony needs to stick to him like ****. celtic have a chance but its gonna be close - very close. juve to win champions league - no chance
Victor was strong as an ox today , just watched Juventus win 4-0 , they look very strong in midfield but bring them on !!!
Harry a team looks strong if the opposition lets it. I thought Celtic looked Strong for the most part today and I thought everyone played well. I would be a lot More hopeful after today's match than I was in December . I thought we had a good Freshness and the management and players used the break well.
Guy Pogba, think that's his name looks very good, but he was given a lot of space. Wonde how he will be when he is pressurised?
That is the main thing, important not to single out anyone individual as they could all punish us, better to be geared towards pressurising all of them. Starting with our front men, we cannot let any of them get comfortable on ball. Eventually one or two of them will get frustrated and that can spread through the team. It worked against Barca. Why not against this lot.
Anyone else watch the Lazio-Juve game last night? Juve won the league unbeaten last year - last night was the first tournament this year they've been knocked out of. Juve have also gained a bit of a name for themselves in scoring late, late winners/equalisers in Serie A so last night looked a bit of a deflator for them. First leg was 1-1. Second leg, Lazio were 1-0 up then 6 mins injury time was indicated. Juve equalised in injury time - looked like penalties. Then, Lazio scored in the sixth minute of injury time to pap them out. Hopefully, it's a bit of a boot in the baws for them. Other than the players I'm really familiar with, I was really impressed by Vidal. Really busy midfielder that can obviously drift from Centre Mid to Wing with relative ease.
I saw the game and don't think they're anything special but neither are Celtic. Their immediate record speaks for itself - top of the league by a distance and have not lost many goals home or away, but scoring plentifully all over. On paper we don't stand a chance but, then again, the same could be said for the games against Spartak and Barcelona. We need to "lock the doors" at Paradise and look for the counter in Italy. If we can be still in the game by 0-0 then I thing we have a chance. The recent performances have been woeful (including the Killie & Raith games) we need to step up the gears again if we are to have any chance. Ledley & Wanyama have to realise this IS the big league and stop pussying about. Confident with Matthews, Wilson & Chuck. Hopefully Effe will be back - if not, it's time Rogne was back in. Brown will lead and command the bhoys. Hooper, Forrest & Commons will be the armoury - and don't discount Paddy making a cameo and chipping in with a goal. Hope Lurch is back but confident enough in Lukaz Zaluska after the weekends performance. Yes, we can win this! Hail Hail
