It's easy for Internet fans to laugh this one off , for the ones that go to the games and spend their money on our club it's a sore one . The treble is still on though !!! The hard one .
No one on here I see is laughing it off ... It's pish! The goal should be to win every competition you enter!
I don't see anyone laughing harry, all I see is other people saying the same thing. I spend money on the club by paying my TV License fee and Sky Sports and the semi occasional match at CP. Some of that money will go to Celtic so i'm every much a supporter/fan as anyone else. I don't go to many games now but I have been a regular at Parkhead over the years, even during the era of Rangers dominance, so I think I have every right to laugh it off if I wanted. I'm not. I'm saying we were dire but good luck to St Mirren because enjoyable as it would be to win everything in sight, it is neither likely nor feasible so we have to be realistic and appreciate that one of the reasons we love football is exactly because of days like today. The St Mirren fans (two of whom work with me) will have a great day out and maybe even memories that will inspire the next generation of Buddies fans. That can only be a good thing. On the downside we were truly truly awful.
Only 20,000 of us there today , come a final 40,000 , I will say it again some fans should have a look at themselves , a half empty ground helped st mirren . Post 2 rebel laughed this semi final off ,the fans degrading the competion helps the opposition .In my mind the league cup is as important as the champions league , Celtic should win every game
Post 2 , league cup is ****e , rebel Only good if we win it !!! Fck me ,you've got to win 4 games before the final ,I've no missed a league cup game since late 70's . Loved the competition happy memories , gutted we lost the day . Life move on Kirkcaldy , Turin !! But surely today I am allowed to be p!saed off ??
Biggest sad memory , butcher fouls Aitken penalty Old Rangers, Fat Sally Hat trick 2 dodgy pens . happy memories the best hat trick ever scored at Hampden , step forward Henrik
You said that I laughed it off. You cited the post where you believe I laughed it off. I said the league cup is ****e. I never said the league cup was always ****e. I understand you are upset Harry. I don't think anyone is particularly pleased about It but kindly wind yer neck in a wee bit.
Rebel , your the best poster on this board , enjoy your crack . Tonight after the game I' m stuck with all the females from my family instead of going for beers with the bhoys . Bit down after result , done my balls gambling the day , but will wake up happy tomorrow not a Hun but a Tim
This team ALWAYS needs a kick up the arse...sadly it has to be a defeat that inspires them We just watched the Juventus team talk today Well done St Mirren
Trevor , come and meet me for a pint !!! You want a laugh , feb 14 is nearly upon us , happy administration day is nearly here and what date was liquidation day ???
And I'm a little sensitive and hungover. Feeling the effects for a lot longer these days. The league cup has lost a lot in the last few years. The euro spot going meant it lost a lot of worth. Our form in it (and at Hampden generally) makes us mentally susceptible to this kind of thing happening. And yes you are quite right that doesn't help when that is transmitted from the stands. As pointed out, it is one part of the treble and that in itself makes it important for us and we should of course aim to win everything we possibly can. I just think the competition is ****e...possibly beyond repair. Still, we will have had 4 different winners of the competition in the last 4 years. I think sometimes I would live a monopoly on the game but if I am serious about wanting the product all around to be better then maybe the occasional chastening is no bad thing. Walking round Glasgow on a sunday morning after a game seeing folk hungover to hell after having gone to see Celtic and then gone on the tear led me to invent a condition peculiar to Celtic fans. I called it "last game ever syndrome" where every single match is treated like the most important game of all time. People would go on it hard after every game. The same is true of the result. Every result means something.
