FROM RP Connections of star youngster Rainbow View have lashed out at the reporter from down under. Trainer Rishi Persad said "Cyclonic is going on like we have run him over 100 times, he is one of the pretenders in the field you would think he was a 50year old gelding judging by reports alone -if he loses this competition I will walk home from Glenview Gardens". Persad also reacted to the price of his star colt saying 16-1 is an outrageous price and he should be around a 4-5 shot.
Ron ew at 66-1 looks tempting won't be backing myself at that price! Nice write up cry Sent from phone
From RP quoting Sticks handler Ms Leader; We never know what to make of him as he extraordinarily lazy at home!
cheers mate and well taken by yourself Hawkeye was going to Newbury last night and I gave him that one to back so really hope he had a decent bet on it!
I should think so Stick. Hope he got the 11s. Probably be late on this morning after a heavy night no doubt. I wonder if he doubled up on Froch. I took him to win by ko at 13/2 (on the Boxing Forum). Take a look at this thread
Following Rainbow Views wormanlike performance against Peter on Saturday new trainer Aidan O'Brien was quick to point out he will come on for the run. Listen we have just purchased him off Rishi Persad and we still have a lot left to work on. Rishi didn't have him spot on for Saturday and we will now sit down with the lads and talk about how we will get him fit for next Saturday. He was lucky to beat that fair colt from the Larry Grayson yard called PETER yesterday and i blame Rishi for poor scheduling. He is a big horse who just switches off - when you have the gears like he does everything is just so easy for him. Joseph will get him relaxed and he will be held up on Saturday - he will need his parachute.
However, Smokin's trainer Michael Dods (im from darlo!) has stated that Smokin was primed for the run and was utterly disappointed with his showing even though he came out on top. However, with RV up next, Doddsy is thinking of sending him to the Forums Fav trainer for a top up. Lets hope he does the bizzle!!
Connections of Ron believe their steed came up against a smart performer in Sir Percy who could go on to greater things. "Ron was spot on for this one and we are naturally disappointed at having hit the post 3 rimes. Those 3 seconds at 13/2, 9/2 and 7/4 cost us dearly, and with the other two both going in this was Ron's best performance by far for a long time. If we can ready him like that for the next big race we hope he can go one better. He's not getting any younger but he has come down the weights so far now that we think the fitting of helium balloons next time could bring about a change of luck. Failing that we might just have to shoot the poor sod."
Gorgeous George WashingTOON's trainer John Panvert is delighted to once again be mixing it with the big boys. He said that his steed, affectionately known as GGW by absolutely no-one, hadn't shown much at home or on the track. "Everyone loves a trier", chuckled Panvert "and bless him he's certainly that. We had one in the Derby back in 06 that went on to win off a mark of 60 and if George can be half as successful as him he'll have exceeded all of our expectations." Pressed about his thoughts on his upcoming clash with Sir Percy, Panvert commented "well my 06 Derby runner was obviously beaten home by Sir Percy (as well as the rest of the field bar the ill-fated Horatio Nelson) and every hour of every day since then I've thought about avenging that defeat. We have to be realistic this time round because we're much more exposed but it's a head to head shootout and if he stumbles a few times, takes the wrong course or even fails to turn up then we'll be there to pounce." SaveTheHumans trainier Nicky Henderson has said he is flattered that his greatest flat horse ever has been put up as favourite for the group 1 classic, speaking to the Sun, he told them that he only took the horse off a friend who had him as a pet and once he let him out in the yard he just went mad, running wild and bucking all day long so he decided to give him a go on the gallops and Nicky states he was astonished when the horse put in an 8 second furlong run and thought it was then a potentail ''superstar'', after several injections the horse was ready for his racecourse debut and having settled better after his 1st run in G3 company, he quickly went on to run well in G2 company before winning back to back G1's which Nicky states as being ''more than i ever could imagine'', ''a dream come true'', he then went on to state that old cliche ''never be afraid of just 1'' and he is relishing the chance of having a run against the mighty redcgull, who was a close 2nd last year in this race. ''The fact we are favourites has put a little pressure on us but we will be thrilled regardless of where he finishes, this guy was just an after thought at one stage, a family pet and to have him run in a G1 classic such as this is beyond anything we ever expected, if he wins today i'm giving all my Jumpers to Donald McCain and just going to train this guy, he really is one in a million. We just hope he get's back safe and if it is to be then it will be''.
Geez you guys are something else. I've really enjoyed the way this comp of Rons has fired us all up. Well done.
