It is a concern that we may be going 2 steps forward and 1 backwards.

Howe has had some good results.

But we have also had some stinkers.

The squad is still poor. A lot of players are crap.

    Jesus H.

We have gone from 19th to easily safe and playing some good stuff in most of our games. Some of the best form we've seen in years.

And people are still cry arsing.

    it was man city.

If you read what I wrote you would see that I have effectively said exactly what you have said.

All the people liking your post are all monkeys.

What I said is all true.

Nah, I don't think we've taken any steps backwards under the new ownership. Even Wood, who is utter turd, wasn't a bad idea, has contributed to results and ensured Burnley would struggle.

We've moved forward constantly, literally and figuratively. But Summer is almost upon us and there's still no CEO or DoF in place which is a very slight concern (slight in the sense that Nickson wanted Wood, but was also involved in Bruno). The owners need to understand that we need to move forward just to stand still in football. If we add two or three players, that's enough to be mid-table again. We're 5 or more away from genuinely pushing towards a spot in Europe which must be the goal surely?

You've got three buckets to fill. Those who can get you to top 6, those who'll be good enough to get you above 17th, and those who are likely to take you down. Your first XI has to almost be full of top 6 players to have a chance, with the rest mid-table. You can't carry relegation-standard players.

Top 6 - Trippier, Bruno and at a push Targett, Joelinton. (4)
Mid-table - Dubs, Burn, Schar, Willock, ASM, Fraser, Manq, Wilson, Almiron. (9)
Relegation - Shelvey, Longstaff, Lascelles, Krafth, Dummett, Darlow, Hayden, Gayle, Lewis, Clark, Murphy, Ritchie.

It's a huge job. It's vast investment and, critically, it's got to be done so, so well. We can't afford many more Wood mistakes.

We only really have Anderson as competently backfilling from the youth set-up, but is he really mid-table PL level yet? Basically, if the Summer is genuinely about 'evolution not revolution' and we're adding 2 or 3 for the first team, it'll be a rude awakening because that kind of investment - given one in three signings never works out as well - will see us on or around the same points again.

Joe White and Lucas de Bolle are both competent back ups.

Was going to reply to the ASM thread but not going to but I'll put it here as it encompasses the game as a whole:

Think ASM is struggling with the defensive work rate he's being asked to do, I mean despite the first goal being his 100% fault for not tracking Cancelo's run - he was still back in our 6 yard box which I'm not sure I've seen before from him...

City and especially Cancelo had a field day down that wing because that's not ASM game, tracking a marauding full back in to his own box - wouldn't look to much at individual performances more the tactical side of the game. Always on a hiding to nothing against City, although until the last few goals they didn't really play their tika taka through us, surprisingly for City they got crosses in and got on the end of them - clearly something City worked on and something for Howe and the coaching staff to have a long look at. We were as solid as you can hope to be vs City through the middle until the 89th min.

Also look at the chances we created - Wood's free header, Lacselles heading it off Bruno in an offside position, Wilson through 1v1 - on a different day we could have scored 3 vs City and even if we got beat 5-3 we'd all be laughing and just saying how **** our defense is.

Think it'll show the owners the need for investment across the board in the club to compete with teams like City.

whilst I agree with you in that it’s not ASM’s game the same can be said about all the top sides flair players and they seemingly can buy in to the team game and track back and defend to a certain level

I'd like to be treated like him.
Payed £30-40k a week to do **** all.
I'd still respect the fans who pay my wages and ensure any laughs and giggles are kept behind closed doors.
It shows a lack of awareness of his part and just underpins the need to move on this wasters.

I see things differently. I'm perfectly happy for players to have a chat and a laugh with the opposition after the final whistle as long as the player(s) in question have put in the effort while the game is on. Same way I'll have a laugh and a beer with opposition fans after a game. This may have fed over from me going to more Rugby games than footie...

Did anyone notice how Man City marked our players apart from Lascelles when Dubravka had the ball, forcing us to give it to him as they know he is ****e.

You said it was a "concern."

Which adds a whole other narrative to your post, then said we have taken steps backwards. Lol when and where.
