'You haven't been to a world cup in 30 years' - Reid 6/13

© Photosport Winston Reid had a great retort for a tricky question by a Peruvian journalist.
After being hounded by the local media in the streets of Lima, the All Whites have responded with a few verbal barbs at this morning’s press conference.
Following their captain’s run at the Estadio Nacional de Lima, New Zealand coach Anthony Hudson and captain Winston Reid faced a horde of interested journalists.
With the Peruvians ranked 10th in the world, Reid was questioned about the All Whites not having a great footballing record compared to the hosts.
"Well you haven't been to a World Cup for 30 years have you?" Reid shot back.
Peru's provided a feverish atmosphere in the lead-up to tomorrow afternoon’s decisive second leg.
Their fans have swarmed the streets to get a glimpse of their heroes, clambered on cars to try and check out the All Whites training, and their local witchdoctors even attempted to place a curse on New Zealand.
While the All Whites are up against it, Hudson’s confident they've got what it takes to qualify for next year’s showpiece in Russia.
"The mood in the team is unbelievable. I don't think we've ever had the team spirit that we have now in the last three years."
Despite their long trek to South America, Hudson’s not worried about the travel catching up with them.
"We've been away to Mexico, away to Japan.
"This team is used to being in these situations, in fact I would say we're probably more suited and more resilient away from home than we are at home, because we're not used to playing at home.
"Everyone's relaxed, everyone's focused. We're really looking forward to the game."

A bevy of fireworks have been unleashed outside the All Whites' hotel on the eve of their critical World Cup playoff against Peru.
The unwanted display was released at approximately 3am in a bid to disturb the New Zealanders' sleep and give the hosts every advantage heading into Thursday afternoon's (NZT) do-or-die contest in Lima.
It's a common practice employed by a group of hardcore Peruvian fans for any visiting football team.

Hmm, a rotund flightless bird versus a cuddly marmalade eating bear. They are both so cute! But which is the best?

Only one way to find out.......
