I've been thinking about what makes a cup "big" and "magical",
IMHO I don't think a cup can be described as either unless losing the final is able to reduce you to crying like a little girl

So,
Losing the COC final? Indifferent, slightly pissed off
Losing the FA cup final? Really annoyed but will deal with it, think back to our FA cup final with Daglish. I would also put the EL in this category
Losing the CL final? Ok, definately a few tears here of frustration, I'm thinking back to losing Milan in 2007. I would also put the Euros in this category
Losing the PL on the final day of the season? Blubbering like a girl, probably. Same can be said of the world cup - even though I think the FA and the English team are a bunch of ****ers, but hey.

So on the back of that, I guess my answers indicate that the only big and magical cups are CL, PL, Euros and World Cup
Anyone else feel the same? Or are you all too manly to shed a tear in the name of football?

i agree about the Cl,pl and world cup.

euros i wouldn't say was big, more an excuse for everyone to get pissed and hopefully have a good time lol, although if you follow ****ing england its always a rollercoaster.

last time euros was good was 96 when we hosted it, been nothing like that since to my knowledge, good times had by all.

i get pissed off whatever final we are in and we lose, what's the point being in the final if you are not that bothered about wining it.

I get emotional everytime I hear YNWA, watch cool runnings or sing Harry Nilson.

Losing football matches just makes me angry. The more important the match, the longer I stay angry. I have been angry at England for about 10 years. Anger at Liverpool, owners etc only lasts until the next game, (when YNWA is next played.)

what the FFFFFFF

the CL final would only be a few tears....

I can honestly say that during the carling cup final when cardiff were causing us issues I had EVERYONE in my house mad at me i was that mad. I can tell you making babies cry does not make you popular with women.

I can tell you that winning it caused tears.

I can tell you the fa cup final was the same

every final is different, different circumstances, teams, favorites.... if we'd lost both cups under kenny the fa cup would have hurt badly. win one.. probably it offset the fa cup... plaus we were under dogs.

In short... the euros and world cup..... come on!

For LFC every cup should be important... anything else means nothings important and you may as well win nothing cos you have the excuse of competing with city and chav money.

This^
Apart from Cool Runnings and I don't really care enough about England to get angry.

(I assume you mean "Without You" by Nilsson? Can't imagine anyone getting emotional over "Coconut". :) )
