From the purest point of view yes I did! How can it not be pleasing to the eye when you see a team dominate possession?
My own opinion is that the spanish are albeit very good, very one dimensional in their play. if a team goes out and defends the centre the pitch they are screwed, look at Chelsea v Barca as a perfect way to play against then. If i was setting my team up against them, i would go for a 4-3-2-1 formation, with the 3 centre midfielders sitting very deep, and the 2 wide men pushing up as much as possible. As for the best team ever thats a very hard one because all teams had their own merits but the french with zidane took some beating.
personally i feel spain have disappointed a little more than they've pleased since they began dominating the international scene. what i mean by that is that they are blatantly the most talented side around, yet their dominance in passing has often, i believe, taken precedent ahead of scoring goals. many times they've tried to score the perfect goal when a much simpler option was available to them. last night we saw spain at their fluid best. pressing high up the field as a team, passing quickly and accurately over short distances, fabulous movement - the key to their passing game, plenty of width, and the full backs pushed on. they were far more direct than they had been during the tournament but that made them all the better. not direct in terms of long ball, but by playing quicker and higher up the field and using the wide areas better than usual. they were a joy to watch and i just wish they chose to play that way all the time rather than get sucked into the tippy tappy around your own box kind of football that i find so dire to watch. they don't do it often but last night they complimented their possession football with a desire to score goals and show no mercy - that was spain at their best
