Charles you can only use what your got. It like Bruce cant set up all gung ho when he has strikers like Simpson and Prossie up front because it just wont work.

You always build a team from the back and then work your way through it and thats what Nigel did for you.

Neither of our loans can be recalled, they are both season long loans!

I think we can argue against that.

Agree with most in your post above though.

My opinion on the top 4 are as follows.

Cardiff really know how to win a game of football, they can score a goal and just hold on. Which will see them promoted.

Leicester are starting to do the same, for example in the last month we've picked up wins in games I have no doubt we wouldn't have earlier in the season. Burnley away and Middlesbrough and Wolves at home.

Hull can play some very nice and easy to watch football and can beat a team up in second gear, but they seem to lack that cutting edge in their attack.

Watford are a bit like Hull in the way they can play nice football but they have a goalscorer in Vydra which is why i'm more worried about them.

Ask Watford about Bristol city, they're brilliant on their day....... Haha, that was a shocker for us and we were terrible. Only plus side is it fooled their lot into thinking they were playoff material.

The last season we had under Dave Jones we had Bothroyd, Bellers, Burke, Chopra, Witts and could tear teams a new one when we were on it. But this side would have beaten that lot more often than not. Out abilility to be solid, score goals and win matches away from home is why we have a 10 point gap.

Player form has a huge effect on the football a team plays, you have knockheart and Woods firing at the moment. A couple of months ago you couldn't buy a goal. what happens to Watford if the superb Vydra gets crocked?
When Noone was flying for us a while back we looked very dangerous with him a Bellers getting at teams. I think FC will help add a dimension to our attack by adding more pace again but we have many strings to our bow. We can get it down and play, we're very good from set pieces when Witts delivery is on and we have midfielders who get in the box late and score goals.

I think Leicester will be the team that joins us in the auto spots, but I get nervous thinking about our 10 point lead. I'd be a wreck if we were that close to Hull and Watford! As a few others have said, good luck to the lot of you and come May the league table will not lie.

I'm 100% sure that you can't (for what it's worth we can't loan them from Scotland or the Welsh Premier League either).

The only areas where we truly lack depth are in goal (it tends not to be that difficult to get a keeper in on loan though) and at right wing back (where in a pinch we would have to choose between a defensive full back and a winger).

At centre back we've got Doyley, Hall, Nosworthy and Ekstrand (who has been called up by Sweden this week), plus a kid whose run of starts coincided with our good form. Oh, and a crap Brazilian.

We have two left wing backs (Czech international Daniel Pudil, and Craig Forsyth, who was fantastic against Huddersfield).

In central midfield we can take our pick from six or seven (Abdi, Hogg, Eustace, Chalobah, Yeates, Battocchio and possibly Sean Murray).

Up front we have three decent forwards competing for two places (the two that are scoring, and a third who made Leicester look like a primary school outfit), with a former La Liga player and youngsters who are scoring freely in the lower leagues as backup.

Sorry for regurgitating our squad for the second time in as many weeks, but I don't think our problem is a lack of depth. In my opinion we have the opposite problem: Zola is struggling to manage the large squad.

As i said you may have the numbers but not the quality

You have Mark Yeates in reserve we have Lloyd Dyer. You have John Useless as back up, we have Andy King

Apart from Vydra and Deeney none of your strikers score enough goals. We have the same thing with Wood and Nugent

In defence our records speak for themselves. Midfield Danny Drinkwater has been class all season. The thing we need to do is get Ben Marshall and Andy King performing again

****ing hell you would think they was Barcelona. While yes they are a decent team but so are us. Apart from Palace no one has come here and made a real impression. They are 4th because so far they havent been as good as us or Hull despite playing more games. Bigger and better sides have turned up at the KP with that attitude and been turned over.

These are the kind of comments I was looking for. I would agree that Wolves deserved a point from the game. We played pretty well in the first half but second half I thought we were very poor and were lucky to win. That said it was a pleasing win for us because we have been the better side in the majority of games this season and not got what we deserved, only really Leeds away and Palace at home have deserved to beat us and earlier in the season I think we would have lost that game so to win it shows that the team have grown and improved a lot since the start of the season.

Siambluebird - note I did say "or don't appear to be a good footballing side", it's difficult to gather an accurate opinion on a side that you barely watch, it just happened to be that when i've seen Cardiff play i've been impressed by the way they defend as a team but not so impressed by the football that they play and that's why I created this article because I wanted to read the views of Cardiff fans, who watch them week in week out, to see if my opinion is incorrect. Cheers for your comments.

The point I was making with that statement is we created so many clear cut chances in those games and we're talking sitters that if we had Wood in the team instead of Vardy, I have no doubt that we would have won/not lost them. They really were games that we've come away from thinking how the hell have we lost/not won because we've played them off the park. Cardiff at home for example, we had 65% possession, hit the bar three times, missed so many clear cut chances and lost 0-1, prior to us signing Wood of course.

I can make a similar statement and say that if we started the season now with the squad we have now I very much doubt that Cardiff would be 10 points clear, we are much better now than when we started the season so I believe the gap would be much tighter.

Cardiff have had a settled side all season and while teams around them have faltered they've remained consistent and continued to win games so fair play, I don't see that changing too much. Blackpool and Leeds away were two tough games that had they not won could have changed their season because the chasing pack would have closed in but they won both so again fair play, I can't see them slipping up now but as we all know a lot can change in 16/17 games.

An interesting debate .. but that is all it is ... it wouldn't matter where we were in the top seven right now - we'd still fill this board with optimistic rationales for why WE would be promoted at the end of the season .... every team that has posted on here has given a bullish positive for their own credentials whilst 'exposing' the negatives (a mixture of hope and some grains of substance - but more hope) of the opposing teams ... it is impossible for any of us to say who plays the most attractive football ... to do so with any authority you would have had to have watched every single game played and have no bias ... doubt that applies to anyone on this thread. What this theread proves is that we all support our own teams ... nothing else at this stage ... no harm in having the banter but don't believe for one minute that anyone has proven his or her point - that will only happen when the maths can't be overturned.

I wouldn't mind admitting if we played ****e football but still got results. Promotion is all that matters, this isn't a beauty contest but a dog fight. The fact that we do actually play great football most of the time is just an added bonus for me.

That's normally the case, but as long as both teams agree, then additional clauses can be written into the loan agreements.

Elmohamady's loan agreement states that he can't be recalled under any circumstances, but Stockdale's has a recall option at any time if Schwarzer gets injured. Both were confirmed by the club.

Fair point. You definitely played better looking football than us in 2007/08, but on balance I wouldn't swap.

North North Watford - what makes you say this?

"Malky Mackay's teams always fade towards the end of the season. They will almost certainly do so again this season".

Are you basing it on the two seasons he spent with you and last season with us?

I can't speak with any certain knowledge about his time at Watford, but wasn't he hampered by a small squad that ran out of steam?

I can however speak for his time at Cardiff. Last season, that scenario was certainly the case. He had very few options in reserve after we failed to pull anyone in in January.

We were in 2nd spot on New Year's day after beating Reading (the eventual champions) 3-1 at the CCS, and we all expected reinforcements. It didn't happen and he had virtually no players to rotate. Those that had battled for 6 months got very heavy-legged for the last dozen games.

That was then, but this is now.

We have a squad depth that should be sufficient to see us over the line. Some super players gathered together who play as a team and now joined by Fraizer Campbell to provide the cutting egde we've lacked since Maynard got crocked back in September.

If we don't get there this time, maybe your above verdict on Malky will be justified - but I wouldn't bank on it this year.

I guess I am a neutral because we could play an extra 10 games to everyone above us and still wouldn't get promoted!!!

Leicester and Cardiff where both ****e at Elland Road although leicester have looked good whenever I have seen them on TV

Cardiff are an awful side who play for 1-0 wins and foul cheat and are pretty ****ing shocking to watch but win.

Watford for the first 25 minutes where on the back foot at Elland Road although looked a threat on the counter and then once we went down to 10 men they looked amazing.

I seriously think Cardiffs luck will run out and the table will finish Leicester, Watford, Cardiff,Watford.

Hull played good football both times we have played them but losing Key players will cost them an auto spot.

They battered us but to be fair we did have 9 men for 45 minutes and 1 of those 9 men was Micheal Brown lol

When I scanned over the rules the other night they stated that goalkeeper loan must always have a recall option. Presumably this is because most clubs only have around three keepers.

    Oi Kisnorbo
Did we beat you AGAIN on Saturday ? Why dont you shift off elsewhere with the other also rans, this is a good debate on who is going to get promoted, either auto or via the play off's. Which doesnt include Big Club Leeds.

Back to sensible. We tend to grind out wins, both home and away, and at times especially away we are not good on the eye, however we are getting the results. At home it can be the same however most teams come to the CCS to park the bus and try and hit us on the break, Ipswich nearly achieved that with the last kick of the game, and i have to say it was a dire old encounter to watch.
In my Opinion i think we are having our bad patch at the moment and we will get better as the weeks go by, April is a good month as we have 5 at home and 2 away, by the time Leicester come to the CCS, i think it will be a joint promotion party and I will take a 1 - 1 draw right now.
As for the rest. Best of Luck
