As suggested, TOO many ...clubs been very lucky with 'Keepers.Bert Slater (who?)werent half bad for an almost-midget.Micky Walker must have had his name chanted more than any other-for you who recall him making his way to the goal.
Shouldnt really speak for others, but I know for Baby Dan it would have to be Dave Underwood.
Dont know why you had to drag Plumley into it author, what a situation he was thrown into !

Dave Underwood used to be manager of my Sunday league team.. What a great man he was.
Couldn't remember anyone's name, a bit like it was reported that Bobby Robson was like!

I think fans always form affections with goalkeepers and we have had many good ones at Watford
    I remember as good
    Underwood
    Slater
    Walker
    Pat Jennings
and yes we used to chant their names as they came to the goal areas..

and then of course we have had
Steve Sherwood... deffo much better than people have suggested
    Tony Coton
    Andy Rankin
    Ben Foster

My brain fails me but yes a lot of decent goalies

The ones I can remember apart from the list above are as follows:

Chamberlain, James, Lee, Steele, Loach, Rees, Bond, Pidgeley, Day, Suckling, Hitchcock, Almunia, Poom, Kuszczak, Shepherd, Plumbley

That's all I can recall but I am sure I have missed a few. Not all brilliant, but some were class, some had potential that was not filled and some served the club well (really well).

Strange that no-one has mentioned the international keeper who has 100 caps for his country....

.....and one or two awful ones as well -

    Frank George
    Peter Goy

come to mind - the ridiculous in 64-65 after the Pat Jennings sublime in 63-64

but not many bad 'uns, admittedly.

Meola had an absolute shocker in a 2-1 defeat at home to Bristol Rovers in the forerunner of what is now the JPT - then it was the Football League Trophy and was open to any side in the FL and it was after he'd had a good World Cup in Italia 90.

Andy Rankin must have been very sad. 299 games and replaced by Eric Steele.

Best Watford goalkeeper I think could be Steve Sherwood. He played all the way from bottom to top and at Wembley for the club.

Best I have seen is David James, on a good day!

Then there was Baardsen, who could have been very good.
