Newcastle and Tottenham go head to head for highly rated German defender
Reports coming out of Germany are that Newcastle and Tottenham are interested in the services of Serdar Tasci who currently plies his trade at Bundesliga outfit, Stuttgart.

Roma and Juventus are also apparently interested in the 25 year old German International defender who is valued at nine million Euros by his club.

That said, Tottenham and Newcastle remain favourites after news broke that the players agent, Uli Ferber, was reported to have visited the UK recently/

Tasci has represented Germany 14 times and is seen as a reliable centre half, however his season has been curtailed due to strained ligaments and before any deal can be done he will have to undergo a stringent medical.

Whether Tasci joins Newcastle or Tottenham will probably be dependent on which of these two clubs manages to qualify for next seasons Champions League, until that time, both clubs and the player himself will have to sit tight.
