It depends on your own ambitions though. You're saying that someone who has paid for their home and is proud of that is shallow, as if it's wrong to feel that way. My ambition is to generate enough money so that my kids don't need to go through some of the ****e I need to go through to earn a living, if I do that then I'll be a success because I'll have achieved one of my goals/ambitions. If my kids grow up to be happy and good people, then that's not my success, that's theirs.
I wisny saying that. I don't mind paying tax to help others at all. All I was saying was that there really should be no difference between the public/private outcomes of being unable to afford the house you currently occupy. Additionally, what's wrong with a largely unoccupied state/social house going to a family that could use it? Isn't that better use of available resources?

I dont want anyone to feel sorry for me. **** happens. My point is that i have no sense of entitlement. I just got on with it. I let out a bedroom in my house. otherwise i'd have probably gone under. I agree with certain socialist beliefs what I dont get is this sense of entitlement everyone has that the government should be there to solve all their problems.
