I wonder if Queen Lizzie would top herself if the bastards taxed all the ****ing bedrooms in the biggest council house in the land, Buck Palace!!!
Its this kind of well thought out level headed and even handed comment that got you the job of general chat moderator feel free to throw my name in to the hat for winner of the week 3
It's virtually yours. Unless one of the girls sends me naked pics. Failing that, I suppose one of the lads' naked pics would do it.
The thought that it is right or just to sacrifice a personal allegiance or relationship as a duty to the state is another indication of how the system leans towards Totalitarianism.
The good old "own two feet myth". No one stands on their own two feet, we are all dependent on each other and on the wider world. "No man is an island" etc. We all owe something to the world, and we all expect something in return.
Well yes we are reliant on the planet and the ecosystem and on a stable political system - and true enough we need to contribute to maintain some sort of system larger than ourselves, a system which protects our basic freedoms. The problem is when the system itself starts to encourage the surrender of freedom - where politicians are responsible for the most basic aspects of your well being such as housing and sustenance. The system should be there to protect people who have no other choice - and it shouldn't be a system that is an easy or even attractive choice.
I think govt has a duty to provide decent affordable accommodation for all it's citizens, and between 1945-1979 UK govts of every political persuasion agreed. The current housing free-for-all is a failed experiment imo, especially in London where I live. My son and his generation has no chance of ever buying a home in London even if I and his mother stump up for a deposit, and as there are no council homes left, that's him ****ed. Incidentally, in the seventies you had to have a job to get offered a council flat by most London boroughs.
'attractive choice'? What the **** are you on about? Apart from the few random cases, where the housing benefit is costing a fortune, it's far from a lot of cash that people get on benefits. Do you honestly think people are happy to waste their lives away for £70 a week (london rate) and a roof over their head? It's a ****ty option, true, but the system is so heavily weighted in favour of the rich that most people give up. When you actually look at the figures, a tiny amount of the overall benefit bill is towards the people you lot are ranting against. If you don't want to live in a society that helps others out, it says a lot more about you as a person than the people getting help to survive. Oh yeah, I forgot, everyone on the dole lives in a 5 bed house and gets £2k pocket money to spend 100k is nothing Most of you ****s have no clue, get back to reading the Mail.
Once Scotland gets independance there will be plenty of Romanians for England to look after and without the income from North Sea Oil. Little wonder UKIP is becoming so popular really.
We'll no join the EU. Create a superstate with the Norwegians and laugh while the rest of Europe dies.
Correct. Shetland consider themselves to be Nordic so England is pretty much going to be ****ed. All those Romanians turning up as well. Riots galore as per the scriptoid. Scotland is considering also adopting the Norwegian currence. An independant Scotland not in Europe, that's what we want up here. England, Wales and that ****ty North bit of Oireland are in for one ****in shock economically. Morris dancing doesn't really generate much income.
Aye, any **** with any sense will back Independence and campaign for this to happen. The Norwegians have it ****ing sorted.
It has a massive Oil terminal you ****in dunce. England would be ****ed. At the moment the only argument you get from pro unionists is "we're stronger together".
