can't beat community spirit, in Tallaght, Ireland, someone used a JCB to remove the roof of the local Lidl. The locals proceeded to help themselves to whatever took their fancy
Day 3 of being snowed in doors, although the early morning snow flurry has turned to rain and a slow melt is starting. We've had a few avalanches off the roof which has added to the depth of the lying snow. The drifted snow has reduced to around 2 foot depth from yesterdays levels and the car is beginning to reappear from under its burial. Our lane is still under a foot or so of snow and no chance of anyone driving unless they own a tractor. It is getting rather tiresome now, just need to get back to some normality. Mind there are some stupid people about, someone went swimming in the sea yesterday around Dublin and had to be rescued......
Hoorah.........a JCB and snow plough have just been down our lane, all we've got to do now is clear the driveway........
You legend Steels Bro I did try and make one and was going to put my QPR scarf on it, but like you it was the wrong kind of snow. I gave up after putting in a 20min shift and making a snow blob...
Can confirm that weather is fine apart from a bit of fog between Birmingham and Manchester Airport, where I have just dropped off wife and son who for some reason need more snow. Now having a double espresso and pondering the drive back, with 20 miles of continuous roadworks to turn a bit of the M6 into a ‘smart’ motorway, whatever that is. 50 mph limit despite 3 normal width lanes being open and no one at work at 5 in the morning. Plus a barrier which at night is nearly ****ing invisible. It’s a ****ing insult. And how the **** can Costa **** up an espresso? The worst I have ever had. I may have a little lie down when I get home.
