Taylor was terrible today, spent most of the time on his arse complaining to the ref. Plus he got another yellow card. Sarr was my man of the match, defended well and passed the ball nicely. We have very few goals in that team. Parker was horse ****. Couldn't trap a bag of cement.
Chris Solly was an unused substitute today and Tariqe Fosu was not in the match day 18 at all. Are Solly and/or Fosu injured? Or were they left out for tactical reasons, or just to allow other players a game.
A very unenjoyable day. The plastics resulted in terrible traffic & parking around the Valley. It took an hour to get moving after. This will be my last “plastic game” as a result. The match itself was dire. The formation and line up didn’t work, and with Djiksteel struggling and Parker invisible, a better side than Blackpool would have beaten us. Taylor looked frustrated up front, and will soon pick up another red card at this rate. It’s hard to exaggerate how poor Josh Parker is - he reminds me a bit of clowns like Mike Small & Obika we have had in the last. He has got nothing - unsurprising considering where he came from. The best we will finish this season is 6th. The air has been let out of tyres. Very depressing.
From what I've heard I'm actually not sorry that illness once again prevented me from going to the Valley today. I too was not looking forward to the traffic congestion. That put paid to it for me really. I'm too washed out right now to sit in London traffic for hours on end trying to get home after the game. I won't be going to the Portsmouth match either as it's on TV and too late in the evening to fit in with all the other things I have to do on Saturdays. Ho hum, never mind...
The combination of Grant’s sale & non replacement, and the overall contract situation, has done for our season. The team looks lethargic & dispirited.
Isn't there supposed to be yet another "take-over" update from Lieven De Turck in a few days time? Surely the mood among supporters at that meeting is going to be pretty sour and cynical, with good reason. Perhaps the Club had better start thinking of a reason to postpone it. Either that, or vet those attending so only the most toadying of forelock-tugging apologists are allowed in.
Next season is a sobering prospect with RD here. It would be a guaranteed relegation struggle to stay out of League 2. Taylor won’t stay.
Talking to @Clb74 earlier he was saying that as both him and @Royston Vasey like a flutter, Mr No Trousers says that there will be less than 800 Charlton at Doncaster. @Royston Vasey will you take up this bet with @Clb74 ?
