Here you go . Page 1229 of the What are you doing thread ( You're welcome ) . http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/art...the-six-weirdest-movies-which-almost-got-made
My elder brother saw them at a very small local club (mainly frequented by bikers and stoners - i loved it when i started going a few years later ) when they were on the SPOTS (Sex Pistols on Tour stupid) tour & booking gigs under false names. He hated punk anyway and was totally bemused by the ramshackle mess he heard that night . My miss was the Pogues on a good night
Ha, yeah, Shane was often too pissed to perform. Which is saying something given how being a slurring drunk was a big part of the act. Saw Happy Mondays at Brixton Academy when Shaun Ryder was so smacked up to the eyeballs they came out 40 minutes late, and when they did he could barely stand. On the other hand I saw Johnny Thunders three times, and every time he smashed it; which was generally about a 50/50 chance with Johnny. Should say Johnny on a good day was rock n roll personified, a ****ing prince in exile.
Only act I’d love to see would be Wu-Tang but even if they come to the UK, it wouldn’t technically be the same without ODB. Like when I saw J5 without The Cut Chemist it wasn’t as good, although I saw them again with Cut Chemist eventually.
The Beastie Boys. Had a chance to see them in the mid 90’s when I was working on the festival circuit and my business partner at the time booked us in for another festival which was ****. Ain’t gonna happen now MCA is dead.
Seen Metallica a couple of times and AC DC. You can still see Metallica mate but you're ****ed now with AC DC.
Yep, Johnsons voice is ****ed, but what a singer. I'm not really a Metallica fan, but it's just one i'd like to see... Ramstein and Slipknot i'd like to see, cos they look mental.
Yeah I have heard his voice has gone but I was referring mainly to Malcolm Young dieing and Phil Rudd's being trying to kill people! I've seen Metallica twice at Festivals and both times they were brilliant. I think you can not be a fan and enjoy it. A lot of bands don't suit stadiums but Metallica do. I've seen Slipknot (also at a festival - Sonisphere 2011) and they were brilliant. ****ing intense! Rammstein not seen yet but I'd like too.
Watching the highlights on Youtube and It doesn't sound that great but the experience live was brilliant! Massive amounts of energy and people just having a lot of fun! I like Rammstein and their shows always look good with fire and stuff. I used to be really into my music and gigs and stuff but no ****er out of my group really likes alternative or going to gigs and stuff so I've stopped going. There is also not much happening in the genre atm that interests me. Barring some pub bands I've seen on nights out the last band was Limp Bizkit for a nostalgia trip. Were really good! You seen much?
