Dunno they left me alone in the end, suspect at that level it's about finding people that it's easier to scare/bully though.
Think that depends on your earnings. You can't pay a bluey a month if you're earning above the average age.
Yeah I'm not 100% sure on it, but I think once you agree to pay off the debt, even if it's a nominal amount each month, then there's not a lot more legally they can do.
Depends who ‘owned’ the debt tbh, often the original creditor will sell the debt for a percentage in the pound to a debt collection agency. Depending on its total value, and what they paid for it, will dictate just how much effort they put into recovering it.
That’s the thing though mate, you both have to agree. If you would be happy to lend me 2 grand and I pay you back a fiver a month, then drop me a muthafuckin pm!!
Well yeah once the agreement has been made then there's nothing that can be done as long you keep up the payments. Most ain't agreeing to that if you're in any form of employment though.
In terms of debt recovery ending up in the courts though, I'm pretty sure most courts will side with the debtor if they are making attempts to pay off the debt. Obvs if you're minted then you can't expect to get away with paying a paltry sum, but most people who end up with these kinds of debts usually aren't well off.
They’re not legally obliged to take any proposal to pay. They will assess the value of assets, which is highly likely to be next to **** all in terms of what they’ll likely recover for them, and take a view on what the debtor is likely to be realistically able to repay and stick to, which is the ultimately call of the person who owns the debt.
This thread needs merged with the credit check thread. Don’t buy **** you can’t afford. As a side note, if Corbyn gets in charge expect bailiffs to be very busy when the blues stop paying Council Tax.
But this si the point, the person who bought stuff he couldn;t afford isn;t the person losing stuff, nor is his kid. Seems to me buying stuff ou can't afford is a great idea if they ignore the stuff the debtor bought and take someone else's. I don't owe anyone any money, she doesn't owe anybody money, the kids don't owe anyone any money. The person who owes the money isn't losing anything, the kid of the personwho owes money isn't losing anything.
As I said earlier mate, my logic is quite simple on the matter, don't answer the door. I didn't think these guys had right to force entry....and it depends what the debt is regarding. As for stuff she don't want to lose, can you not stick it round your gaff, until the baliffs have done one.
Why? seems like he was onto a winner to me, buy stuff, someone else pays. she lives 50miles away, going down on Saturday, if it hasn't been taken and they're still on the 'to be removed' inventory i'll take them.
Surely he can scrape together a decent enough chuck of that from family / friends and agree a payment plan for the balance? Does he actually still live there and has she admitted this btw?
