Of course we should be targeting a win, every game we should target a win it goes without saying!! GAFFER, DON'T EVEN BE TEMPTED TO MENTION ANY SCORELINES!!
With respect, no-one has said we shouldnt go for a win, every game. But most agree, in the circs, a draw against the Baggies wouldnt be a bad result. Taylor starts. Come on Town
At the end of the day we are playing a well established championship team. Because of the results earlier today whatever ever happens tonight is irrelevant. Hopefully we will get something out of the game.
He has been **** Yorkie, miscontrolled a simple ball in the box that nearly ended in a goal, thinks he is ****ing beckenbauer on the ball and taking 10 mins to pass, it's all too friggin slow and he is the biggest culprit!!
Williams has been v good, Burns and Broadhead useless. Taylor ineffective and Hurst starved of service. Hutch and Luongo on, maybe even Harness
Oh credit to West Brom and as I predicted BUT.....It's all too slow and predictable, that's why Hutchinson may make a difference
They should’ve buried that chance for a third goal. I really hope this isn’t a case of a Championship team finding the blueprint to beat us. We look ordinary and out of sorts, and a large part of the credit has to go to West Brom. Pressing well, letting us have the ball in harmless areas, and forcing us to go long too often. Can’t see a way back into this game. Need options off the bench urgently.
Tbh, West Brom have done their homework on us. We were pedestrian 1st half. Nil points today I am afraid. Every team has their Off day.
We are two nil down and ****ing strolling around like we are winning, get your ****ing arses moving!!
We look rattled out there. So cautious. Don’t think we quite expected this West Brom performance. Highly likely this will be our first blank in months. Would definitely have had Hutchinson on for Burns - who looked tired 20 minutes in - but looks like it’s Jackson on instead f*** sake. We’ve not been our usual fluid selves all match. Hopefully just a case of post international break rust.
Annoyingly, we’re still playing Plan A when we need to move to a Plan B. Keeping the ball in our own half and looking for balls over the top didn’t work in the first half. It’s not going to work this half - particularly when the response is to (check notes) put Jackson and now Scarlett on the pitch. Write this game off, but crucially learn from it. We’ll need to work on our response when we’re up against well-coached opposition that know when to press us and when to sit back. As Gaffer says, West Brom have done their homework on us. Unlike most other teams in this division, the difference is they have better players.
