I know the majority of people were really disappointed with the atmosphere against Fulham so what did you think of it today?

Personally I thought it wasn't great but it was a lot better than the Fulham game. It did die in the last ten minutes but I think when we are cruising like that most people don't see a need to create an atmosphere <laugh>.

That, and the fact we put 4,000 on the gate................attendance 46,236...........

Here's 2 other possible reasons:

1. Poor away fan support as home fans often respond to chanting!
2. The extra "fans/old age pensioners sitting down" in the old singing section

Didn't go the match. But it sounded absolutely terrible on the telly. However, they do edit it down due to swearing.

I thought the atmosphere was flat in the first half but everyone seemed to wake up once Demba started scoring.

The reaction when Ben Arfa stepped out the dug-out though was incredible, everyone went crazy, as if we'd scored! <laugh>

That reaction on Football First was insane... It was bloody loud when Ba's name got read out as the player coming off but somehow it went up another 10 decibels for Benni!

Wouldn't be surprised if the BBC tone down the crowd noise. They do it for F1, anyone who's seen a live race will know how deafening the noise of F1 cars is but that isn't portrayed in the slightest on TV coverage for obvious reasons.

Anyway, as I've said before, there aren't many teams that regularly generate great atmospheres at home for the majority of matches. I only go to a couple of home games a season, and about 5/6 away games and the atmosphere in the away end when we play is always amazing. I love it. At home it's hit and miss in my experience.

The atmosphere was poor. I was up in the leazes corner and the stewards were trying to make us sit down but we were refusing and as a result the majority of the atmosphere was everyone singing, we'll never sit down we'll never sit down shove your seats up your arse we'll never sit down and singing stand up if you love the toon and singing stand up and support your team. Then they started pointing at stewards and singing stuff like peado peado, you fat bastard, is it a man or a women, santa give is a wave and jingle bells. As for elsewhere in the stadium we heard geordie boys taking the piss after 1 of our goals and that was it. It seemed dead everywhere else and really it was dead in the leazes aswell.

What pissed me off on MOTD was they showed Liverpool's half-hearted cheer for a past it football player coming back after 6 months but they did not show our immense reception for Ben Arfa coming back after a year and for a player who has just scored a hatrick coming off.

Ha yeah, couldn't believe they didn't bother showing that.

I'm pretty sure MOTD dub out out fan base, because we sounded silent on their programme.

We were singing for most of the game.
