The Athletic: Danny Ings signs new long-term contract, but not for Southampton.

Being pedantic but i expect it will be a 3 year one at that point. The duration is unlikely to be rolling

 

Oliver Giroud looks to be leaving Chelsea for Milan, so surely Ings to replace him makes too much sense.
Perhaps cash and a player gets it done.
No links just me speculating.

 

Firstly, I highly doubt Giroud would want to come here and secondly we couldn't afford his wages.

I'd take Tammy Abraham if Ings went to Chelsea. Not sure Abraham would be happy with that though.

So who sits on their bench ? Watkins or him? I don’t see them switching to a front 2

 

Both of them at some point, is a squad game and Villa seem to be trying to make some big moves this window

 

Bearing in mind poor Ings spends half the season in the treatment room, having a second front line striker would be a sensible suggestion for anyone buying him although I would be hard pressed to choice between the two of them for the number one spot as both are about the same quality

 

I hope Ings stays at Southampton.

LTL winning the 100m finals in Tokyo is 'a possibility' if he's the only person in it, but nothing is advanced at this stage.

Guess it depends on Kane then. If he moves, I’d imagine Spurs will go after ings heavily
