We lost the game in the hour after Lyon went off injured. We should have been able to coast into a lead in the first innings and have them without a spinner in the second (if we were chasing sub-250 we'd have been fine). Honestly we don't deserve to win the game or the series, Australia had their players over in the counties getting used to conditions and are playing test cricket. We had our players out playing limited over cricket and are still doing so, it's exciting but the whole "at least we're competing" is such a losers mentality. I respect the improvement we've had in the last year - we were abject prior to Bazball - but now we're a better team overall we need to use our brains more. We could/should be going 2-0 up tomorrow, that's what hurts.

T. A lot of England fans were so blasé after Edgbaston, happy we competed blah blah blah. We need to get a winning mentality else it's curtains for us in this series.
