What a contrast the first hour was....for half an hour Aussies picked up runs with relative ease then England pick up 5 wickets in 20 minutes for 9 or so runs.....Jimmy is pure class a master of swing bowling....
Wow, I said at the start of the day that the Aussies might squeak a first innings lead but I didn't think it would be thanks to a 100-run last wicket partnership!
Fair play to the young lad Agar. What an ashes debut. Fair play to the lad. But England's bowlers have done themselves a disservice. They stopped doing the basics and putting the ball in the right places. They've started freelancing and have paid the price. But indiscipline has undone us when the Aussies should of been down and out.
I make that two sessions each, Agar has covered up a truly dire batting performance from the Aussies. Remainder of today will show us what the England top order is really like in Ashes combat. Still very confident that this will end up a very one sided 10 match series, but it would be very dull if we didn't have this kind of drama. The Ashes over the last 10 years really has been one of the premier sporting battles.
Crazy decision to give Trott out. Umpire thought he hit it and there's no side-on hotspot available - why doesn't it stay with the umpire?
They've been discussing that on TMS and can not understand it either....should be Umpires' decision.....3rd umpire does not have the remit to over rule the umpires' decision. Seems the 3rd umpire also made a haims of the Aggar stumping decision.......not having a good day!
A nice big innings from KP now please. The man is something of a tit, which sadly sometimes masks what a great batsman he is.
