The Ashes & Hampshire Cricket Summer Thread

Back from work...thought we would have a couple more by now. Am concerned because the Mirror betting pundit has said England will win....I'm not kidding you, he is wrong over 90% of the time. Used to worry if he predicted us to win...luckily he always thought we'd lose (even when all evidence pointed the other way).

 

Clarke has a century. Classy knock from a classy player. Now get out.

Tough day for England, but the Aussies played well and Khawaja's dismissal was embarassing.

 

Very, very, very happy. Three tickets purchased.

Of the four possibles, they were my no.1 choice. Very confident of another place at Finals Day. Although that in turn does worry me - I wasn't confident about last year's QF vs Notts or the QF vs Durham the year before that, and we won both of them. Hopefully my confidence, or lack of it, isn't misplaced for a third straight year!

Brilliant in the past week to prove that a) we can score 180+ if required, and b) we can win batting first.

 

Not convinced with Griffiths though. Hopefully we'll have Tanvir back for the QF next week. Looking forward to Finals Day already.

 

Tanvir was in the squad and training on the ground yesterday. He's also in the squad for the four day match starting tomorrow.

That said, he may have onlylanded back in the country yesterday a few hours before the game. I don't know.

 

Need to get a couple of wickets before lunch to claw the momentum back. If we can bowl them out for around 450, it will be a decent effort.

 

Have to say haven't been that impressed with him so far. Quite expensive for the wickets he's taken!

 

I've just realised in previous years for the T20 QF's and Finals Day England have released some of their players to play. Well that ain't gonna happen this year! Notts will have to make do without Swann and Broad, Lancs without Anderson, Essex without Cook, Surrey without KP. Plays into Hampshire's hands.

 

Hope you are right! Just wish finals day wasn't in Birmingham.
