£40 a ticket is a bargain for 3 games of cricket. Only potential problem would be the weather, but it hasn't been too bad this year.

That is a good price for finals day but...
You could watch 2 days of County Cricket for that. Nearly 3 if you go to Hove.
T20 is the most expensive format of the game, pound for pound, by far.

But it's also the most entertaining form of county cricket.

Your opinion tomw, but I'd swap any number of one day trophies, for one County Championship title.
I like T20 and List A too, but first class cricket has to be the number one priority, for a strong England team.
T20 has done the Aussie test side no favours.

Hmmm not sure about that. It's very satisfying that Hampshire are the one day kings. There will be a lot of other teams fans jealous of Hampshire getting to finals day regularly.

I find 4 day county cricket boring to be honest. I enjoy test matches though just as much as any other format in internationals. Don't think it helps that no one turns up to 4 day games. Finals day is good. Been to it on two different occasions both at the Rose Bowl

Most of them would have had little interest in cricket before T20 appeared, I'll wager.
If you took a poll of the members and the players themselves, as to which competition means the most, the answer would be a County title more often than not.

I always enjoy going to finals day with my mate. We make a weekend out of it, drive to Birmingham, Cardiff or wherever it is and find a cheap hotel within walking distance of the ground and by the end of the day we're wasted. Last year there was this massive snake made out of beer cups that was passed around the crowd getting bigger and bigger and the stewards couldn't get anywhere near it. The snake was about 50 cups big before it broke. Hilarious!

County championship is incredibly dull I feel. Test cricket has a bit more about it as it is a higher quality. T20 is ideal for me.

I like county championship cricket but like you Al, T20 is right up my street.

Problem with the County championship is that nobody seems to care. The crowds are pathetic, an average of about 20 people a match. It's the equivalent of the Premier League and T20 is like the FA cup I suppose. It's a shame that the league format is so poorly supported, although I see why.

20 people! Al I'm sorry, but that is just not true. Last year, the average attendance for any day of cricket across all counties was 800.
Considering that it is played mostly on weekdays that is pretty good.

Thanks, Ideally I would have waited until Hampshire had played their QF before buying the tickets but there aren't a huge amount of tickets left so better safe than sorry and it will still be a great day even if Hants aren't there.

I don't know the exact figure and give way to your superior knowledge of the subject. The grounds look incredibly empty, that's all I'm saying.

I'm confident Hants will get to finals day. Who we likely to get in the QFs, or is it a random draw?

To be fair, most grounds have a capacity of 10,000 or more. Some, like Edgbaston, Lords etc have a much bigger capacity than that. Grounds that size are always going to be quite empty during Championship games.
