I keep reminding myself I witnessed history, It doesn't matter it was 67 all out on friday, I was part of the history of the 4 days. sixty, bloody, seven all out. I witnessed 67 all out. How good was today, wow!

I liked the way he kept slowly removing his helmet and cleaning his glasses ...obviously to keep his vision right rather than allowing Stokes to rest while simultaneously winding up the bowlers!

I should have read further down. What a great performance from Stokes and Leach. They achieved what most of the other English batsmen hadn’t and that was not giving away their wicket cheaply.

Yes me too just like 2005 at Old Trafford !
There is not many better days out than a Test Match !
It's really strange it just builds as the day goes on !

It is just a glorious result and occasion !
I've had a brilliant 4 days ( with the beer and watching a free Human League concert ) :emoticon-0148-yes:.

Great stuff.
If history repeats itself, there'll be a few drunken sods (mostly Yorkshire men ) taking a leak on the wicket on their way back 'ome from the local boozer in good ol' 'Edingley ( I''d guess the favourite is The Skyrack, but I really have no sound/substantive evidence <laugh>).
We soldier on.

Unbelievable. Eclipses Bothams for me. Ashes at stake, last innings so scoreboard pressure, against what was
a very strong bowling attack.

I have to agree, I've watched a lot of cricket in my lifetime, and that innings and performance by Ben Stokes top anything I've witnessed before, as you say even Botham's heroics.

I've just watched the highlights on 5, and the more you watch it the more incredible it is. Really, what he did is beyond remarkable, the intelligence when right in the thick of it was a joy to watch. How he kept the strike and at the same time producing a plethora of different shots, the reverse sweep for 6 comes to mind was quite amazing. For even Boycott, who has been around a long time, to say that is the best innings in a test match he has ever seen is something in itself.
