Come on, Ron, it would be hard not to do a bit of 'cheating' with that lovely lady co-guitarist? Might even have been the guy's missus, anyway?

Sex Pistols in legal dispute over Danny Boyle's new TV series The Sex Pistols having a tv series directed by Danny Boyle, made for them by Disney...!?!?! Now thats a combination i never thought would happen...
Films, series etc, especially of the crime / gangster genre, tend to excel by their ability to present truly nasty bastards - here Gyp Rosetti from series 3 of Boardwalk Empire, ranting at the fact that Nucky will no longer supply him with booze (Gyp is seated at the beginning of the clip, the one with the eyebrows). I must say it took me ages to watch seasons 1 and 2, but the introduction of Gyp in season 3 has got me hooked again. Great clip this, he is so full of menace
This weeks filming is the latest Batman film. We have to be escorted in an out of the building which is a pain especially when nothing is happening and you are trying to catch a train. Apparently tomorrow is the final day
Great scene this from Boardwalk Empire S03 Episode 11 - it looks like the game's up for Nucky as cars full of armed men roll into his hideaway - but out steps brother Ely to announce he has made a deal with a certain Al Capone. Great music.
The Kinks were quite a band in the '70s. Here they are doing a piece called Lola. Pretty cool drummer, that! THE KINKS LOLA BBC-Top of the Pops -1970 - YouTube
Cracking series - loved them all It always puzzled me why the cast scouser Stephen Graham as Al Capone, although to be fair, he does a very convincing American accent!
Their best stuff was in the 60's Swanny. When people think of sibling rivaly nowadays they think of the Gallagher brothers, yet Ray and Dave Davies were knocking seven bells out of each other decades earlier! Even to this day, Ray is loathe to acknowledge anything that Dave wrote, and is scathing about Dave's single "Death Of A Clown" All a bit sad really.
All their albums from the 60's and early 70's are wonderful, on a par with the Beatles themselves, they used to release their best songs on singles and then incorporate them into the LPs (not always). It's hard to choose just one but I especially like The Kinks Are the Village Green Preservation Society but I could choose any of the ones from that period. I was lucky enough to see them live in Madrid in 1986 still with Dave in the band, memorable concert with 70.000 spectators chanting most of their songs.
How spooky a coincidence is this? Just a few hours after commenting on scouser Stephen Graham's attraction to American producers, I watched a film called Greyhound (obviously I thought there was a chance of some whippet racing!) But sadly no - Greyhound is a Tom Hanks 1942 naval warfare movie, and the title is an American submarine destroyer. And Tom Hanks' XO is the irstwhile Mr Graham of course! Also - on The One Show, 30 minutes ago is Stephen Graham again talking this time about his upcoming drama with Jodie Comer (Killing Eve) The afore mentioned film, Greyhound, is probably something Resurgam would be interested in. Although it is an "actioner" it is very technical regarding the manouvers and tracking of various vessels within the protected convoy on it's way to beleagured Britain. I have the movie as a computer file (don't ask how!) If anyone wants I could try to zip it and send via email or whatsapp/
I saw it two or three months ago and I expected much more, I was disappointed. He is good (as always) but the film is confusing and, at times, heavy. I liked his previous film, A Beautiful Day in the Neighbourhood, for which he was nominated for an Oscar for best actor, much better. He makes an exceptional performance because it's very easy to fall into ridicule with that character and he does a great job. To play a real and very famous character in the United States and succeed was very difficult.
RIP Michael K Williams, the actor behind one of the greatest criminal characters ever in Omar Little off one of the best TV series ever The Wire. He also played a great part in the Boardwalk Empire series, again portrayed as a gangster, and again played it superbly... It seems that the drug habit he admitted to over the past few years has eventually caught up with him, which is so sad...
I’m just on series 5 of Boardwalk Empire red and was really sad to read about his death. Chalkie White and Omar were 2 of the most memorable characters EVER. RIP Michael
