Strap on your 'Walkman' and show the kids how it's done! Of course you might be talking about a tape made by an even older recording method! For anyone who still buys 'physical' music these Saturn stores in Germany (and FNAC in France) are like a f****n' toyshop!
Over the last few months I have given around two metres (?) of pre CD vinyl albums to my wee cousin. I started to buy CD's at the beginning of their era and will continue to do so although my 'living' space is reducing rapidly. The only digital music I 'own' are three 160 GB iPod Classics full of albums uploaded from my CD collection (possibly 6000+). I am currently considering obtaining a 'new' Classic as I have not uploaded any albums for a few years. F****n' luddite; that's me!
No, I wasn’t there by the tv taping it, but got it from a friend at Aunties: just an ordinary cassette though. She’s a magic slide player.
I am now in possession of five second hand Bonnie Raitt CD's; strangely my current favourite is the album with the 'poorest' reviews ....... Souls Alike.
A wee hint or warning even to all other performers........... do NOT attempt to cover songs by Tom Waits. Bruce Springsteen and, particularly, Rod Stewart take note!
Cannot disagree however I will not start WW3 by listing some ......... I adore Bob Dylan however covers by The Byrds and Jimi Hendrix spring to mind.
Agree - not many films have done the books justice. A recent change to that trend was the mini series Catch 22. It's utterly brilliant.
I was interested when I saw it advertised but I absolutely love the book and can't bring myself to watch the series. Reviews haven't been too kind and that also put me off. I know I should make my own mind up so might get round to it at some point.
Mostly agree but I'm a huge Ray Charles fan yet strangely prefer the Spencer Davis Group version of Georgia. What about Adele’s version of Bob? Or Jeff Buckley’s version of L Cohen? Or The Who’s version of Bo Diddley? I’ll give you the pleasure of filling in the songs
I do prefer many 'rock' band's covers of Rock'n'Roll classics .................... Mountain's version of Roll Over Beethoven on the 'Flowers Of Evil' album! On the 'Hallelujah' front gimme Brandi Carlile anytime. Controversial comment coming; I prefer the Wallflower's version of 'Heroes' to the original. This band being coincidentally fronted by Bob Dylan's son Jakob. Moving into blasphemy; have you heard Cheap Trick's reworking of the full Sgt. Pepper album? Better stop before a contract is put out!
