I'm a big fan of ambient music and good old Brian Eno has written many a decent tune over the years.Ive heard this one in a few films including in one of my fav 90s flicks 28 Days Later. One of the most peacefull tunes your likely to hear which seems to be working well getting my little lad to sleep!Aphex Twin is another artist I really like as well, Extal and Rhubarb are tunes I would also recommend to check out.
Nice one, Ste, think it will help this 'little lad' get to sleep too; am having a right old problem lately!
After parking up, the sunset was too good an opportunity to miss. Not too bad a place to live really I suppose
If ever you're over this way Ste, I'll treat you to a beer on the seafront and you can sit on the lifeboat balcony
Marlon Brando said his long time friend Katy Jurado had the most piercing black eyes he'd ever seen. Katy Jurado might not have been the lead lady in High Noon, but for me, she stole the screen when it came to the ladies. please log in to view this image
I remember when I was a kid being blown away by Pinetops Boogie Woogie. What a tune. (And Brigitte Bardot incidentally). Just been listening to a few versions. If anyone else has a liking for this particular Boogie Woogie and has a favourite version I'd like to hear it. Apart from the piano versions I also like the Tommy Dorsey version. Reminds my of my old wind up gramophone (handed down by much older brother) the volume control being a football sock placed down the speaker and large needles placed into the arm which had to be gently placed at the start of the track and replaced at the end. That was before I had an automatic changer. Feelings of nostalgia when I hear some of those tunes, like Moonlight Serenade, String of Pearls etc
I love boogie Ron, when the greats get into it, it's amazing. I have two clips below, the first is a wonderful duet featuring Dr. John & Jools Holland and the second of the legendary pair Pete Johnson & Albert Ammons. I like the first clip, (although the introduction and the corny act is a bit off putting) but I think the second with Johnson & Ammons Barrel House Boogie is a much "cleaner", sound. It's brilliant. I can see why they are so lauded.
Great clips, Cyc, Pete Johnson and Albert Ammons were the greatest, indeed. In the second clip, Barrel House Boogie, at point 0.40 think the lady second from right is my Mum! She used to wear the most extraordinary hats, and was quite the 1920's girl, so my Dad told me. He fought off a lot of opposition to get her apparently.
Holy ****, they're amazing Oddy. There are some clever people out there. Because I can't get my had around rap, I wasn't so much into the first one, but the other two were brilliant, especially the Lennon one. Thanks mate.
Anyone who liked the film predator will like this, stop shaving you don't have a beard!! Same team also do a few other Arnie films
The great Danish entertainer Victor Borge tells us things about Mozart, and his music, that no one knew about!
