Will certainly give this a listen, but the very word Bass invokes fond memories in the beery part of my heed called 'brain'. Poured a few Bass pale ales in my time in my old man's pub, with Worthington a first-class bottled beer. A bit of real trivia, I must confess, but well, beer is an art form too, isn't it? "Bass took control of a number of other large breweries in the early 20th century, and in the 1960s merged with Charrington United Breweries to become the largest UK brewing company, Bass Charrington. The brewing operations of the company were bought by Interbrew (now Anheuser-Busch InBev) in 2000, while the retail side (hotel and pub holdings) were renamed Six Continents plc. The UK government's Competition Commission was concerned about the monopoly implications arising from the deal, and instructed Interbrew to dispose of the brewery and certain brands (Carling and Worthington) to Coors (now Molson Coors Brewing Company), but allowed Interbrew to retain the rights to the Bass Pale Ale brand. In 2010, it was widely reported that AB-InBev are attempting to sell the rights to the Bass brand in the UK for around £10 million to £15 million." -Wikipedia.
Reminds me of extended family holidays to a caravan park near Poulton-Le-Fylde in Lancashire. Evenings spent watching the 1962 World Cup from Chile (?) in the ex-servicememan's club and the Golden Hynd. Of course it was my father and uncles who partook of the 'bitter'.
I don't drink Pils, BK, hate it. 'Spezial' is without doubt an ale, ein Helles Bier! I was a bit late today, actually, got stuck in local Aldi who were ridiculously busy!
Two beautiful songs from a bygone age: Judy Collins with Arthur Fiedler and The Boston Pops Orchestra, May 1976: "Send In The Clowns" (Stephen Sondheim) ..................… "Both Sides Now" (Joni Mitchell)

Dinah Washington was one of my Dad's favourite singers. Reminds me of the early LP's he bought after we got our first red Dansette record player out of 'the store' in Leith. For myself I love the arrangement. Thank goodness I was brought up in a household with good musical taste.
No football today, so thinking how nice it would be to be in a cozy Bossa Nova Lounge somewhere listening to old favourites Bossa Nova jazz style, whilst peacefully sipping a Caipirinha cocktail. Ah well, so next best thing, put a few on courtesy of YouTube, with a Vodka Orange with just the one block of ice. Here's one just to start with, Jerome Kern's great old romantic classic "Smoke Gets In Your Eyes" Bossa Nova style:
Can't believe it's been 50 years since this Dylan classic was released by the Band. Love Richard Manuel's voice.
