Some outstanding photographs accompanied by the enchanting music of "Orinoco Flow", made famous by Enya, and played here by the Taliesin Orchestra:
One of my favourite entertainers. The clip below shows him at his best, he was one cool dude. He and the sax player Herb Hardesty were great mates, and now both are gone. R.I.P. Fats Domino. 2-26-28 - 10-25-17.
One of Robert Plant's great influences plus gave Cheap Trick one of their best show stoppers! I have of course only reached my early sixties.
Check out 0:12 seconds in ................. a classic air display "sneak pass" as perfected by the Blue Angels. Everyone looking in the one direction for the main body of aircraft and one of them comes from exactly the opposite direction at about 50 feet altitude and fast as ****. Watch the crowd jump and again at around 1:00 minute. Best viewed LOUD
I was aware of the many 'foreign' battalions within the Waffen SS however it is strange to hear this gentleman relate his history over about eight years of his life. How contrary war is? Many years ago while on holiday in Seefeld in Tirol I spent a few days with girl from Rotterdam who related some horrific happenings her family suffered while under siege from the German Wehrmacht. Two very different 'war' experiences visited upon or undertaken by Dutch individuals.
Well food is an art form too, isn't it? I always start drooling when watching these street food videos on YouTube - this one is a killer
I suppose this might come as a bit of a surprise to some, (it did to me) the most ever paid for a painting is US$300,000,000. Yep, three hundred million bucks. It's a Willem de Kooning piece called Interchange. Produced in 1955 it was first sold for US$4,000. In 1989 it sold for the second time, but for a whole lot more ... US$20,700,000. Then in 2015 it changed hands again for the US300 million. please log in to view this image
It was bought by a bloke called Ken Griffin. He's supposed to have the most expensive collection in the world, worth about US1.1 billion. When he paid the 300 for Interchange in Feb 2015, he also brought Jackson Pollock's Number 17A for another 200 million, both from the same man.
