English football is a step closer to reintroducing artificial pitches after the Football League announced plans to seek opinion on their possible return.

We probably could have done with this at the Mem a few years back but with the UWE stadium on the horizon personally I'd prefer proper grass. Anyhow the FA have published a survey (link below) to guage fans opinions.

With our new stadium plans this is hugely relevent to us at Rovers so take a look<ok>

Depends if the Rugby club will move with us to the UWE? if they were to move in they would have a big say in the pitch and they most probably would be against it.
With football in mind I think it would be a big help to the lower league teams as it would save a lot of money but these artificial pitches have some dis-advantages with more injuries to players. Also when it rains and freezes would the plastic on the pitch make it much more dangerous then normal grass??
If anything I would much prefer normal grass in the new stadium.
