Yup, I'm normally glad when I see Barry starting against us rather than De Jong. He's aggressive but that's a good trait for that position. I think he would be perfect for our squad.
He's no thug. It's controlled agression, he only breaks people's ankles when it's needed. A thug is Joey Barton, who'd break an ankle just for a laugh.
Yeah, I heard Barcelona and City have enquired also. Great young player but De Jong would be a far cheaper option. (and still top class)
We only say that because he does'nt play for us. Im sure Adams, Keown, Bould, Vieira and even Iain Wright got called the same thing. I have to say Im quite keen on having a player in our team that incites a bit of fear in the opposition. We always used to have at least one.
I don't know if I agree, some of Barton's behavior has always seemed calculated to me. He knew how to make opponents act foolishly, and get an advantage for his team... e.g. with Gervinho who usually seems pretty chill. De Jong seems much more the naturally ruthless type to me.
I'm not even talking about his games for Man. City really. Some of the games I've seen him play for Netherlands were terror.
Frimpong is probably why Arsene got turned off of DM's last season. He was shocking in every game he played, I really don't know where all this positivity towards him is coming from in this board.
I like Coquelin, he is a good player and he's very mobile. Frimpong hasn't really had a chance to show what he can do yet. But I think he's got a future at Arsenal, he has the qualities that we've been lacking in MF for a few seasons. I'm not saying that he should be in there for every game, but used according to the opposition. In a similar way to how we use Mertesacker against long ball merchants.
DeJong is meant to be in the last year of his contract and up to now has not been offered a new one by Citeh
He ran around like a headless chicken mostly. It's fine if your DM has that effect on your opponents but for the team he must be a calming and reassuring presence. Any game he was involved in I literally cringed whenever a play was happening around him, he looked so lost and in panic.
