At St Marys it's £2 for a cup of tea and a Yorkie bar. Sees me through 90 mins :)

<laugh> To be fair, I watch a lot of Championship and League One football. My team in the Championship is Nottingham Forest and the team in League One is Notts County, so I keep up to tabs on both of them and watch a few other teams as well, like Cardiff and Southampton.

You've got some very good players, it's just a shame how you keep losing them to bigger clubs. Your youth system is one of the best around <ok>

I think you guys are too big for the Championship. Come up to the Premier League where you belong <diva>

Hopefully, Southampton, Nottingham Forest and Leeds get promoted to the Premier League, come May 2012. <ok>

Not anymore! At least not for the pittance we used to get for them.... :)

I think that if you keep getting transfer fees for players developed in your youth academy for similar prices, as to what you procured from Chamberlain's departure, then you could be like a mini version of Chelsea or Man City with all the money you could theoretically get. You're reasonably well run, have some very good players and Adkins has done wonders for your club.

You may be surprised but, we honestly didn't need the dosh, and we never need to sell, nowadays. Not only is the club extremely well run, but we have a very, very deep money chest. The truth is, as Arsene wanted OXO so badly, our Chief Exec just wanted his £15M pound of flesh, so to speak, in return..!

That's nice to read. I know you lot have never actually been relegated, but our recent 27 unbroken years in the top flight, plus another 7 or 8 from earlier years does count for a little sense of where-we-belongness, I suppose.
Yes, our Academy is second to none. I understand that the Premiership is trying to introduce a grading system, which is threatening to damage some lesser clubs. It suits us just fine, of course, and our facilities are being hugely improved, to state-of-the-art, at this moment. So we've got the infrastructure sorted. Now we just need to do the deed.
I'll be optimistic - how about, see you next season..?
We only sold him because he wanted to go not because we needed to sell him.

Surely we can't be getting 40% sell on fee plus the stated 12mil, rising to 15?!! I was over the moon with the possible 15 mil, 40% is just ludicrous but good for us ludicrous!

Do we want Alex to fail because for the moment we're annoyed or do we want him to realise his potential so Barcelona poach him? Difficult one. I don't know if we got the sell on clause we wanted or settled for a large fee up front. Cortese can't have won every argument. Can he? I suppose a large sell on clause reduces the incentive for Aresenal to sell him except for a massive fee and that's a long way down the line. Also like Saints they don't really neeed to sell their players, it's just that players have a lot of power now.

I'm sure I noticed at the Leeds game that it's up to £2.80 for a hot drink and a choclate bar. And they no longer sell Yorkie bars.
