Someone needs to remember that we have gone up 2 leagues in 2 years. No team buys their survival anymore. It takes team spirit and patience not only over months but a couple of years.

That is one reason I felt embarrased reading loads of saints fans telling other teams we would be champions league in 5 years time when we were still only a few weeks into the English Championship let alone Premier.

5 years time if we are finishing top half then we are doing very well.

And yes we are 3 points behind where we thought we would be having got the 3 hardest games we will play out of the way already. Now for some 'easy' games like Liverpool and QPR.

Are you sure we can't start panicking yet? I'd quite like to, been a while since I had a good old Saints panic.

I still think we will finish relatively safe however the next few games could change that view :) Either way I am positively happy that MY saints are still alive, saved from bancruptcy and playing in the big league. If they go down they will still be alive with a promising future. Lets not get to those IFs, lets just see results and keep our fingers crossed.

Strewth this is the depression thread.....Any one would think we lost a game of football!! How many of you will still turn up next Saturday for the Villa match.......Most I will warrant......As others have said we have had two exceptionally good years. There was not a chance in hell we were going to have a 3rd especially in the premier. We have bought some decent players Some we have yet to see, However There was no one that was out there today that hadn't earned that right to be there.
There is, as is usual with a football board, disagreements as to a players ability. That has always been any football team's fans biggest discussion point since the invention of football all those years ago. We are no different......healthy discussion is good for the soul or so they tell me.
The reality is though, the manager has to make the decisions as to who or what formation he plays. It is after all his head that is on the line if he does not get it right and he will know that better than anyone.
All we can do as fans is turn up and support the team in the best way we can and get behind them. Just remember all these recent defeats is bound to have an effect on their morale. They are not a bad team...but they have not always had the rub of the green either that is for sure.

Look, enough of the personal handbags. This is a football forum, part of a sports forum, and not a place for the carrying on of personal vendettas. Please use the ignore function if you can't be civil to each other.

You're kind starting a thread that gomarchingin can fill with his bitter posts to his hearts content.

Oh Dear. It is not apparent that they are/were the three best teams in the league because they finished 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the league last season and not becasue they have beaten us? They finished top because most teams lose to them.

The text of my first post here, December 3rd 2011, just after we lost to Doncaster...

"Even though I am new here, I won't ask for you to take it easy. Give it your best shot boys

My question, is it written into the DNA of the saints fan that as soon as we get a couple of bad results we are all doom and gloom and saying things need to change?

My opinion - nothing to worry about. I said in another thread that I think someone is going to catch a packet very soon (hopefully that lot down the road). I still think that's the case. And I still think we will finish second. "

The moaning minnies here really need to wake up and smell the coffee - a couple of bad results and anyone would think their world has collapsed. I was right last year, and I am right now - this team will not get relegated. Just for a few seconds, try to engage your brains....the one thing that gets teams relegated more than any other factor is the inability to score goals. Season after season after season, people say clubs won't get out of the relegation zone because they can't score goals. This team can, and will. We have played 4 games - in one we damn near beat the current champions, in the other we damn near beat the team that will probably win it this year. Not bad for such a "pathetic team" that "lacks character" and apparently has a manager that can't cut it in the premier league

You know, I wonder if certain members of this forum will struggle to find things to say when we win. Time will tell...let's watch shall we? And no, I won't apaolgise for "slapping" people who post utter rubbish here.

Jenny you sound like a bully unwilling to accept others have their opinions and unwilling to apologize/apologise for whatever reason is quite childish .
I got loads last year after I said we whimpered over the line and we could struggle against Coventry , we hammered them and I was on here straight away apologizing for my actions , I will do so again if I am wrong .
