I read yesterday that Jose Mourhino is upset because our media doesn't respect him, despite him winning loads of stuff, and he doesn't understand why Arsene Wenger gets more respect than him :emoticon-0126-nerd:

It won't be because, despite being a 'breath of fresh air' in his first term in English football, he's turned into an ignorant, arrogant, boring :emoticon-0113-sleep arsehole, and the fact that Arsene Wenger is a gentleman (with his own flaws, like we've all got) and has earned the respect that he gets, so I'm puzzled, too :huh:

I like Man. U. too, but he simply doesn't deserve any respect now, and the sooner he leaves the better as far as I'm concerned. They had a reputation of playing good football, which has been great to watch, but he seems to be changing that. I have always believed that one should command respect . . . . not demand it. One thing that I have noticed about Mourinho, and my memory might not be 100% accurate here, is the fact that when things are going well he stays, but when the going gets tough he just goes :undecided:

Their fans have a reputation for being arrogant and patronising, giving cause for a dislike of them, too, but that's maybe what success does to us . . . . we'll never know :emoticon-0106-cryin

I know a couple that aren't like that at all, and I usually wish them well (usually when they're not playing us) :emoticon-0105-wink:

Couldn't care less what other folk say about him, I'm not his guardian.

People are far too bothered nowadays about interviews and stuff, the guy will be judged by what he does with his team, I'm not bothered if he moans like a slut and wins trophies, give me that over nice old Turkey head Wenger who'll give nice interviews and win ****ing nothing.

Fair comment <ok>

He's arrogant no doubt about it. So was Fergie tbf and was hated, equally. Maybe that's also what success brings.

The thing that disappoints most about Mourinho for me, is this was suppose to be his dream job, the one he coveted the most. And yet he's walking around like a miserable sod. Nearly all United fans I know are happy to give him time and know he'll be good for it. Where he's going to lose that credit is by his demeanour. He has to start showing he's revelling in the job, that he wants to be there. It's no different to a player.

For me he has just about run his course in being worth listening to. Historically, he has gone out of his way to say something controversial then complains when it is used against him later. Headlines today, fish and chip paper the next.
 
Its all been done before by others far better than him ,for quite a while his voice is sounding increasingly muffled as his head travels further up his own ring hole
 
I feel that he is now in the last chance saloon regarding his credibility..If he fails at Man U his self imposed "special One" tag will have ran its course..However, if he wins the league with them then he will go down as one of the all time great UK managers..

Much as I think he's an arse, there's no doubt imo that he's already an all time great manager (missed out the UK bit on purpose). Simply based on what he's achieved in such a relatively short period.... starting way back with that UEFA Cup with Porto.

My lad was in Portugal for a ManU EC tie and chatting with locals and they adored Bobby Robson but had no time for Mourinho. Bobby took him to Barca as interpreter so fiar do's to Mourinho for learning enough to get him where he is now. No doubting his record, just his attitude.
 
What he says is right though, about Wenger, no other manager would go 10 years+ without winning the league at a top club and keep his job, he is a specialist in failure for sure.

If he had the passion he used to have (Wenger) he'd have either walked out on Arsenal or be winning the league with them.

But if owner and manager are happy with each other and the way the club is run why should he comment at all?
