The game was originally going to be played on Saturday, but the police asked for it to be moved, as there's an EDL march in Walsall. A similar one in Dudley kicked off, so this one will be heavily policed. They couldn't move it to Sunday or Monday because of Man Utd's European commitments. No favouritism on this one, it seems. Moving the opener forward after we'd asked for it to be moved back is more open to questions, though.

And apparently Sky intend to make Friday night fixtures a feature of their coverage from next season. They have got permission to showcase it with this fixture. Friday night football will be difficult with the frequency of midweek fixtures during the season, but it's great for us fans. Most people are finishing work in the afternoon with a game to look forward to in the evening at the start of the weekend.
