If Fenwick's shop window is good enough for you, it's good enough for Whitey.

You can have him!

I've heard about Japanese fishermen being like that.

They pay well too after they've been at sea for long spells. You could get enough for your next ST.

He will be forced to take a 'Technical Area Etiquette' course run by Jose Mourinho and then a 'Self Control' course run by Eric Cantona (which includes a free Kung-Fu lesson) <ok>

Precedents for this kind of case:

In 2007 when Rushton & Diamonds manager Garry Hill was charged by both the FA and the police after headbutting Salisbury City coach Tommy Widdrington.

Widdrington, a former striker with Southampton, Grimsby, Port Vale and Hartlepool, suffered a broken nose after a touchline bust-up at the end of a Blue Square Premier League game that had also seen two players sent off following a 21-man brawl.

Hill was banned from having any involvement in football for two weeks and was also hit with a 10-match touchline ban and £500 fine.

- Not really relevant as Pardew's was a far less serious incident.

Former Kidderminster manager Mark Yates, who head-butted an Exeter City manager immediately after a Conference game against Exeter in 2007, sets a precedent for such cases.

Yates, now Cheltenham Town boss, received only a four-match touchline ban and a £350 fine for his assault on Exeter’s Lee Elam

- A bit more realistic. Even then this was actually a headbutt where as Pards was not.

However Pards does have previous so the ban is likely to be increased by at least a couple of games. It all depends how they view it. He and the club have done everything possible to show they remorse and the incident is not acceptable. There is though for their part the tantalising temptation of making an example of him to get themselves a bit of popular pat on the back.

It's all been blown well out of proportion, it wasn't even handbags at 10 paces. No broken nose and no blood, just an in your face kind of statement / confrontation.

Whatever the disciplinary panel come up with will be considered either too little or too much, the media scrum and pundits have made it almost impossible for them to make an objective decision in this matter as no one who has any interest in sport can have failed to have come across the coverage in last weeks media. My personal opinion is that a 5 match touchline ban and fine is enough, for everyone going on about him being the manager I think that an additional 2 match ban and higher fine than a player would have received takes this into account, my reasoning is that whilst he holds great responsibility he is not the idol that fans equate to, fans idolise players not managers, the youngest and most impressionable are even more so focused on the players. As for the majority of the pundits very few have walked the mile in a premier managers shoes, Yes Pardew has previous but lets be honest he has hardly laid out anyone, a push, some verbals and a head nuzzle, we have seen far worse on the pitch over the years and will do so in the future, they need to grow up particularly the likes of Savage who with 89 yellow cards is not exactly the best of roll models, I always feel as well that Savage has always resented the higher achievers in football as he was part of the golden youth of Man Utd along with Giggs, Beckham etc but was cast out as not good enough and proved in his career to be more of a hacker.

I think he'll get an 8 game stadium ban.

Ince got a 5 game stadium ban and he barely did anything. Granted he did push an official rather than head butt a player. I just think they'll look to make an example of Pardew. It'll be embarrassing if he get's a ban of longer than 10 games as they means they see violence as a greater offence than racism.

I reckon it'll be 3 game stadium, then 3 game touchline or something like that.

Pardew should use something like this in his defence, pointing out the inconsistencies.
Then again perhaps not, as at the time he said that Shelvey should have been sent off.

He's just going to have to take his punishment tomorrow and get on with it.
