I don't think Joe would be £100,000 down and facing more punishment, Joe would get a Police Caution and £80 fine if he was unlucky, of course you will in the event that Lee Cattermole remains a Sunderland player be calling for a heavy ban and fine when he gets his 8th red card, putting him equal top on the all time list of PL red cards, as he is a repeat offender who plays in front of thousands and is of course a role model for the little kiddies.

Christ? Is Clattermole top of the pile? Didn't know that. What a foul, detestable bloke he is.

I have a feeling the fa will be harsh. There is a possibility he may lose his lma licence to manage. I think 6 match ban would be fair but the fa love to set an example. He wants a personal hearing to explain his personal circumstances for leniency but it wont wash.

Tsk, don't talk silly, he doesn't possess one. Here he is on his last venture to locate one, (he's the scarecrow)

Needs one more, two and he will hold the record for red cards which considering his age I think he is set to well exceed, equal with Roy Keane at the moment amongst others, big Dunc, Vieira, Dunne at the top with eight, says a lot about Cattermoles game that he finds himself in with these guys.

At 25 no less. He can't even use the excuse of catching people late because his legs had gone.

To be fair there has been a massive conspiracy against him and Sunderland in general <laugh> Cabaye and Tiote commit loads of yellow card/red card offences without anything being done. Whereas Cattermole wins the ball (if you consider opposition ankles in mid air the ball) and gets immediate reds. Double standards. Honest guv.

Just thought I'd save the mackems the trouble of posting their usual defensive drivel.

Wouldn't mention Clattermole in the same breath as big Dunc or Vieira.

The replies here have me wondering if some of the Newcastle supporters are aware that Pardew is in fact the MANAGER of NUFC with all that it entails, Joe's 80 pound fine as a percentage of his wage would be massive, Pardew would pay his fine from the petty cash, the police would take into account the expectations of the behaviour of both, Pardew has proved by his actions on more than one occasion that he is not the full quid

Question, but not worthy of a new thread - another manager used to working for a questionable owner on a budget of less than £50 is likely to be available soon. Lee Clark's boss, Carson Yeung, is about to spend 6 years (well, maybe less) in prison for laundering. And whilst I would again highlight just how lucky we are to be part of MASH Holdings, the point of this is - would you take Lee Clark over and above Alan Pardew? Seems like a realistic-ish suggestion. Cheap, young, no headbutting to his name, works with peanuts, would appeal to the somewhat less-informed masses. Kind of a sound commercial decision, one might argue.

Others might not agree with me but I'd have Clarky over Pards.

The law does not take account of an individuals status in life, the Police do not undertake prosecutions the CPS do that bit, when preparing a case they would take into account the likelyhood of getting a prosecution, in Pardews case I would think that they would only realistically persue a case for threatening behaviour as it is clear that ABH would be unobtainable. As far as Police involvement under section 5 offences the norm is a PND with a £60 to £90 fine as this would come under theratening behaviour, doesn't matter if you have millions or just a tenner, I couldn't see this being treated as anything more than a section 5 public order offense if this happened on the street, may not even get that far as I doubt the police would arrest if this happened on a Friday night they would have a lot more to deal with. Judges or Magistrates may impose fines as part of a sentence but there are limits set and they could not exceed the limit just because someone is more high profile in the media, they certainly couldn't impose a £100,000 fine for a relatively low level offense.

No. Achieved little so far. Pardew on the other hand has done a very good job with limited resources.
